I have an idea for a "The End" Mob. Its called the Ender Worm
(If the picture doesn't appear, notify me)
As you can see (if you can read my scribbles) that the Ender Worm travels through "Portals" and can make however many as it can. It sounds like it will be really annoying, but read on.
GENERAL NONSENCE
---------------
The Ender Worm is definitely NOT going to spawn every chunk, because there will be portals everywhere. No, I think that it would be every 5 - 10 chunks 1 would spawn. It has 20 hearts and it fairly annoying. Its best to avoid it. Its Aprox. 12 - 20 blocks high.
IT'S PORTALS
-----------
The Player can use these portals to their advantage if the terrain generator were to be different. The player can jump into the portal, and can come flying out of the other. If there are more that 2 Portals, you would go in a different portal each time. The Portals have a sort of "Suction" function feature to them that "Sucks" up the blocks around them (5 blocks every direction). It can also suck up the Player and the surrounding Mobs around it, but not the Ender Worm.
ATTACKS
------
Sonic Hiss - The Worm turns its head and screeches at the player, sending the player back 20 blocks. (THIS IS THE ONLY ATTACK THAT DOESN'T REQUIRE THE PLAYER TO ATTACK THE WORM)
Bite - When the player attacks the beast, the beast stops generating portals and floats towards the player. If it catches the player, it will trap the player in its mouth, hurting the player by 1 heart every second. The player must kill the beast before it kills you.
"Portal Attack" - Other than the Bite move, this is the only other hurtful attack. The worm gets annoyed and starts generating portals everywhere, cleverly positioned to hurt the player. The worm eventually stops and does the Bite move. The "Portal Attack" Deals as many hearts as it can, depending on its fall damage.
Yeah, I was just describing the attacks with a name. It's not like somebody is standing behind him, shouting "BEHEMOTH! Use ENRAGE on the ENEMY PILLAR!"
I do like the armor idea. Maybe when struck by lightning, the armor would crack, but heal after 30 seconds. The boots idea could do with a change, like perhaps they don't regenerate. You would have to destroy these protective 'boots' before the lightning can really effect him, maybe the lightning would randomly bounce off of him and hit the ground or even the player if they were not destroyed beforehand. There needs to be something that draws the player to them, making it obvious.
Hmm... That made me think Shadow of The Colossus again, and I sort of like it. It'd be interesting to weaken his legs by attacking them, and then once he's disabled, you get near him and attack him.
I think I have a solution to this.
Based on the drawing, I assume it's made out of some kind of metal, but maybe his body should be made of dirt and stone, but the large majority of the body is covered in large iron plating. The only gaps are around joints (neck, foot, etc.). So to hurt it, you would have to mine out a joint, hit him with lightning, then continue to attack him for how much time he would be vulnerable.

Sounds good to me, strike him with lightning to stun him, then mine out the joints to topple him over.
And making the player switch between pick and shovel would make for an interesting boss fight.
Though maybe it should be special blocks instead of dirt and stone, they would have te same properties, but are harder to mine/dig, and it would also help to have a disinction between normal dirt/stone, and the ones on the boss, since we are technically making a "mine-able entity" which might be difficult to code.
I have a theory on how we could do this code-wise, when the beast is struck by lightning and is "Stunned" it is actually turned into a stationary group of blocks with everything but the joints unmine-able. when a joint is fully destroyed, it turns into the a version of the boss without a leg, which would basically be a different mob.
Once all the legs are destroyed, the actual mob you do damage to appears, which is the form of the boss without any legs.
TL;DR
Basically, we have a mob for each number of legs, 4-0. But the only one you really do damage to is the form with no legs.
When you "Stun" the beast with lightning, it turns it into stationary blocks, which could easily be mined. Only the joint blocks are mine-able though.
Once you mine all the blocks in a joint, the leg "falls off" and the mob of the boss with 3 legs appears, and so on until there are no legs left.
You could then attack the boss freely and kill it.
How about it just wears a special type of armor. You have to mine it off before he can be stunned. Once recovered from being stunned he regenerates the armor by destroying the pillar that stunned him.
It is simple and logical. The Behemoth wears armor crafted from the same material as the pillars.
Also, Is it OK if I make a mock-up of the arena in actual MC. As a result you can get a feel for what it looks like.
I have plans for the castle in the center and I can then just use what has been said to make the larger area.
It's not really complex, it's more how it would play out in the code, because having a "mine-able entity" would be rather difficult to code.
You stunn it with lightning, mine a leg, rinse and repeat till there are no legs left. Then you can attack the boss.
I still think that if you mine his limbs and end up with a hopping monster it wouldn't be that good.
I still think that if he wears armor made of the pillar material that has to be pickaxed off.
And a mine-able entity... how about the Sliders from the Aether mod, or the weeping angels which you could only kill with a pickaxe.
There is a difference between attacking an entity with a pickaxe, and actually "Mining" one.
And we probably do have to figure out the whole hopping monster thing... I still want concepts of the overworld in this boss, so at some point you need to mine part of him.
I don't think there should be a monster hopping around. Maybe "weakened" limbs, causing him to move slower/be less effective in combat, but not completely destroying limbs. If we had to make an entirely new mob for every limb you destroy, there would have to be a new mob for every combination of missing limbs, ex. only back right leg destroyed, only front left leg destroyed, both front left leg and back left leg, etc., so on and so forth.
i have found the sollution to that before, making each limb a seperate mob allows for any combination of them to be missing at a time, if there was an octopus that could lose legs, it would be eight mobs and a body mob, any could be removed at a time, instead of 8 factorial(1*2*3*4*5*6*7*8) combinations. I don't support a hobbling boss with one leg, but the sollution above could be used in the future.

You guys can't really find common ground here, so, if I may:
Jello wants the mineable legs and toppling boss
Savannah wants mineable armor
so, why don't we combine them?
the Behemoth's Armor (as it could be called) covers its body completely, even at joints (but its a different color),when you hit it with lightning the armor's properties change and it becomes mineable as the Behemoth falls over. When the armor is stripped away, it reveals a stone body made of Golem Stone* (I dont know, something cool) which is mined with a pick to do damage. Some other block, like a type of clay could also be found, which would be mined with a shovel for damage.

That would be cool I guess. But we still need to know how it would play out in code. It may seem like I am rushing ahead to coding, but it is really important that we know that is even possible to code before we end up getting to the coding.
I saw that some people want some biome tweaks like better transitions and better beaches... id like some improvement on mountains so they are not so "hilly" anymore. When i say hilly i mean that looks like a enourmus grass hill instead of a "real mountain"
So is the land that is in the Ocean Dimension (Which should be called Aquarus, and thats not a typo) mountains that span up through the depths of it, of random chunks of earth and rock floating in mid-water?
Also the boss of the Sea-Place should be a giant squid that emerges from the deep and starts batting at you with it's tentacles. It should live in a cave, and when fighting it, it should stay for the most part inside the cave, only It's tentacles really emerged. The crux of killing it should be dodging it's tentacles until you are close enough to slash at it's body, at which point would emit a jet of water forcing you back and making you start again, this time it would also shoot ink at you.
And it needs to be REALLY BIG.

The "crust" of the Water Dimension is actually suspended above the ocean.

well, assuning the joints are cubes with hitboxes, you can just paste the breaking texture over it, effectively making it aesthetically right, and after the mining you can just make it so he loses the limb.

I actually like the original bahemoth suggestion better. A giant stone beast the has the be killed by weakenning it with lightning. It shouldn't lose legs, after it has three legs it would be very weak.
Overview of the boss castle. This version is made out of stone but the real one would be made out of the pillar material.
An overview of the castle. It is made out of 4 towers each with a special feature in the top. The walls in between have two gate walls with a walkway over the top and two stair walls.
The courtyard, at the top and bottom are the gates in and out while at the sides are the stairs up to the towers.
The tower in which you spawn.
The tower with the exit portal, this is inactive until the boss is defeated.
The library tower, with a record player and a chest of loot.
The library loot chest (remember this can't be returned to the over-world without killing the boss). It contains a pre-filled in map of the arena. Some chain armor, some golden apples and a full set of records (not 11). Finally a watch, compass and some cakes for for food.
The tower with the summoning horn. The redstone torch is standing in for the actual horn.
seems cool, but didnt the tower have a connection to the river?

Hmmm... Hmmm... I believe you have failed to mention what dimension that boss dungeon is in... But by the rain I'm assuming it's the Water Dimension. Yup, we need a new thread.

thank you.
Honestly, I hate its lameness and lack of originality. It has no monsters, it has genric merpeople and a god as the boss.
