Thanks, all those ideas are pretty good. Just maybe make the crabs a bit smaller or the turtles a bit bigger, since crabs bigger then turtles seems weird.
Cucumber
How about three different ones:
Red crab-2x4x3 hostile, spawns in water and on land
Yellow crab-1x1x1, neutral, spawns on beaches and caves
Green crab-.5x.5x.5, passive, spawns in the jungles, catch in Trap for food

Also turtles should be bigger, how about, 2x4x4?
Though I like the idea of turtles, I think we should sort out all the technical stuff before we get into things that are purely aesthetic.
Turtles could be used as a form of transportation or something...
Hey again Jellomob! I gots some uses for your items.
Also, I have noticed that you *don't* actually have any recipes for Diving Suits (unless I somehow missed it?). So... I will probably work on recipes/sprites/various items for your dimensions because I like well thought-out ideas. Here are some minor (like very minor) additions for now while I attempt at things like Suits and stuff.
Glow Goo
- can be made with Redstone Dust to make Glowstone Dust? Just a small helper and filler for uses.
- maybe a use with a diving suit to make yourself luminescent? Because normal/redstone torches need air, plus with the insane pressure at the lower levels all forms of air will implode :tongue.gif:
The Jungle Layer, in my opinion, should be similar to Jeb's in-progress Jungle Biome, but with minor tweaks.
Lakes
The Lake biome is basically those "pits" that lead to the water dimension. They only spawn far inland in the dimension, and have a 50% chance of going deep enough to go into a cave system which leads into the underwater layers, or just straight into the underwater layer. On these lakes are usually found Lily Pads (like in the overworld), Algae and Cattails. Also, on the bottom or sides of the lake Seaweed is found. Minnows and Jack Fish are abundant here.
Plant Life + Items
- Algae: Algae spawns only in Swamp Biomes (overworld) and Lakes (Water dimension) near the edge of the water. You cannot stand on it and swimming through it will slow you by 15%. Algae can be collected, and placed on any still Water block. Algae can also naturally spread from another piece of Algae, so watch out! If more than 50% of the surface of a chunk of water is covered in Algae, underwater peaceful/neutral mobs cannot spawn within 10 blocks below the Algae. Algae is used as a material in brewing potions such as Potion of Weakness, Potion of Poison and Potion of Sickness. The Potion of Sickness is a combination of the Potion of Weakness and the Potion of Poison, with reduced effects. The Potion of Sickness can be made by brewing a Potion of Weakness (or a Potion of Poison) with a piece of Algae.
- Cattails: Cattails spawn near the edge of water in Swamp, River and Forest biomes (overworld) and in Lakes and Rivers (Water dimension) at the edge of the water. Cattails have the same placement rules as Reeds/Sugar Canes. Cattails can be collected and drop a Cattail and 0-2 Cattail Seeds. Cattail seeds can be planted in any Dirt/Grass block that is next to a still Water Block and grow instantly (no stages) after 0.25-0.75 Minecraft days. Cattails can grow up to 2 blocks tall. Cattails can be crafted into bedding with 1 Cattail (makes 1 bedding). Bedding can be used in place of Wool to make a Bed. Cattails can also be placed in a Furnace to make Boiled Cattail Root, which in turn can be used in a Crafting Table to make Mashed Cattail Root. Mashed Cattail root can be used to instantly heal 1 Heart of health.
Cattails and Algae along the water's edge.
- Seaweed: Seaweed spawns in the Ocean biome (overworld) and in Lakes and Rivers (Water dimension). Seaweed naturally grows in these biomes, whether or not there are any pieces of seaweed in the area. The only requirement for them to grow is that they are between 5-10 blocks from the surface, and on a Dirt/Sand block. Seaweed can grow up to 2 blocks tall (like Cattails) and can be collected. Seaweed is collected faster with Shears. Seaweed can be placed underwater between 1-10 blocks from the surface (this includes the surface block). Placing Seaweed below these levels will simply have the Seaweed pop out, like a Sapling. Seaweed can also be placed above ground, but after a minute or so they become Dry Seaweed. Dry Seaweed can be collected (but again is collected faster with Shears) and placed in a Crafting Table to make Ground Seaweed. Ground Seaweed can be used alongside a Dye and Wool to make 3 of that wool instead of 1, increasing the output. Seaweed (Wet) however can be used in a different way. Seaweed can be put in a crafting table (8 around the edges with a Raw or Cooked fish in the middle) to produce 9 pieces of Sushi. Sushi can be eaten to heal 1.5 pieces of Hunger.
Seaweed’s biggest use, however, is to make a Tier 1 Diving Suit. Seaweed can be crafted with an unused Leather Helmet to make a Diving Mask, and with Leather Boots to make Flippers (Tier 1 diving gear). A Diving Mask gives the same Armor as a Leather Helmet and has twice the durability. A Diving Mask allows the player (when worn) to be able to see clearly underwater, and slows the Air meter by 50%. Flippers have the same armor bonus as Leather Boots, with twice the durability, and make Swimming have only a -30% speed reduction (when worn), but have a -20% speed penalty when worn on the ground. Seaweed’s largest use is to make Tanks (Wooden (Tier 1), Iron (Tier 2 if filled with Oxygen, Tier 3 if filled with Liquid Oxygen), and Diamond (Tier 3 if filled with Oxygen, Tier 4 if filled with Liquid Oxygen)). A Tank is made by placing Wood/Iron Ingots/Diamonds along the two outer columns of a Crafting Table, then placing 2 pieces of Seaweed on the top and bottom squares in the middle column, with a piece of Redstone Dust in the middle. Tanks can be equipped into the Chest Slot, or can be placed on the ground. Wooden Tanks can store up to 3 minutes of Oxygen before being empty. Wooden Tanks will lose Oxygen at a 200% rate (for only 1.5 minutes of Oxygen) if the player goes into the Middle Ocean and the Wooden Tank will implode if the player goes into the Lower Ocean or The Deep, instantly killing the player. Iron Tanks can supply 8 minutes of Oxygen to the player, and will lose Oxygen at a 200% rate if the player goes into the Lower Ocean and lose Oxygen at a 300% rate if the player goes into The Deep. Iron Tanks will implode if the player goes into The Deep if filled with Oxygen. Diamond Tanks will only implode in The Deep if filled with Oxygen. Seaweed’s final use is to make a Liquid Oxygen Generator by placing Iron Ingots in the four corners of the Crafting Grid, with Seaweed in the top and bottom of the middle column, Iron Buckets in the middle of the outer columns and a piece of Redstone in the middle. Liquid Oxygen Generators can be placed, and when powered, can fill an Iron or Diamond tank with Liquid Oxygen by placing a Bucket of Water in it alongside the Tank. The advantage of having a Tank filled with Liquid Oxygen is that they will not implode in The Deep.
So yeah… That’s about it for now. I have All Tiers of Tanks for Oxygen but only the first tier of Diving Gear. Tell me what you think.
To be honest all the Aether really needs is a little bit of a nerf and a tweak here and there.
IMO however much people talk about wanting something original the Aether will be added to this mod with a bit of a nerf here and there as it simple gives us one dimension which is pretty much finished and thus reducing the coding required by a vast amount.
I played it and it was quite fun and a good benchmark for the content needed in the main dimensions.
I think we should have something a bit more creative than just an island in the sky as our skylands.
Alright. Well at least you guys looked it over. I didn't know how to space it but I put the pressure for realism because if it was all based on Oxygen someone could make it to the bottom with a lot of bubbles and getting lucky, just with Tier 1 gear. But thanks. I spent ~2 hours working at that, so it does mean a lot to me that you guys read it.
Just cause I mad a huge input, we think of making daughter threads? I kinda agree but the current data should still be logged on the parent thread. :tongue.gif:
But yeah, just to let you know, if you couldn't tell already, I made the textures for each the Algae and the Cattails (I used the Reeds texture for the Cattails and the Lily Pad texture for the Algae). So I didn't actually DO any big input. But anyways, if you guys ever need more ideas just come ask xD
when hooked up to a powered circuit, it funnels the rest of the charge into the space around it. The discharge strength is determined by the distance from the origin of the energy, and the strength of the origin, as well as the conductor used.
Circulator: Pipe Tanks Bubble
Titanium blocks
O2 Tank
when powered, releases a large bubble every 5 seconds
Diving Mask: Titanium bars glass pane Pipe
Oxygen Tank: Bubble Tank
Thermal Leggings*: Name sucks Rubber Quicksilver
Flippers: Rubber Titanium rods Rubber block
not sure about the capacity of each part yet, so free to suggestions
Trap: Iron bars
When placed, and fitted with a kind of meat, will slowly attract small animals:
like fish and crabs/shrimp
I'd suggest that the Abyss having a jungle top would make it a bit too much like the overworld. I think you should avoid having any of the realms (other than the overworld) being too earth-like, instead try to experiment around the themes of each realm to come up with something unique.
The reason for my thinking here is that each realm should represent part of a universe with its own 'rules.' The earth occupies a galaxy consisting mostly of space. The nether seems to be an infinite subterranean world; perhaps the nether-verse is almost the inverse of our galaxy, consisting mostly of rock (netherrack) with occasional spaces in it.
Even though I do agree with you that the WD shouldn be unique and not look to much like the overworld, theres a problem with this. One of the things this thread wants is that you should be able to start from scratch, survive and thrive, and really that is a problem if theres no source of wood.
Also the solution we have to this problem (the crust) is quite planned out already and quite frankly, I like it. Not only does it make this WD unique from all the other threads about water dimensions. It also solves the problems with surviving over larger amounts of time, which is the biggest problem with the nether thats in the game right now. We could even add some really interesting biomes on the crust if we wanted, to make it stand out from the overworld.
Also I do agree with Savannah man on that we should finally establish daughter threads for the other dimensions. As right now updating the OP seems to take forever at times, and a lot of the ideas posted doesn`t even get noticed.
ThermalxXxHunter, I think those ideas are far too advanced. You are making titanium pumps in a game with magic dust and swords. Some of the things like the wires and electricity are straight out of IndustrialCraft. I don't think any of these things fits will, I am sorry to say.

Minecraft makes me feel like I'm three. Playing with blocks and afraid of the dark.
Why not make an Abyssal wood equivalent? Maybe there are areas with huge bone structures left by some ancient creature. Maybe there are giant kelps. Maybe the Abyss has an unusual kind of coral which is somehow similar to wood. Idk. Any of those could work though.
My feeling is that your version of the water realm sounds more like a big overhaul of the existing mc oceans. For it to be a realm unto itself (for me) it would need to avoid being too like the overworld.
Try and picture it:
You're in the Abyssal plain, just hovering in the twilight zone. Above, there is cold, bleak darkness. Below there is a vast, sprawling vista of kelp forests, of ruins and coral formations. In the distance there is a vast rock arc and structures the size of mountains. In some places, the rock floor is cracked and warm light floods up into the water. Jellyfish and squid are drifting serenely past-
Etc.
This was my idea from the start. Everyone here is pretty hard set on a crust, though.

I appreciate the criticism and all, but I HATE it when people use that excuse. I'm not saying it's wrong to believe that, but the goal of minecraft isn't to be medevil. The whole point is to dream, design, and explore, and all all of these things have to do with evolution and advancement. You should start out with nothing, but eventually, you should be able to build into a more "modern" world.

Modern things are too complex for Minecraft, that's that problem. Modern things take a long, advanced process to make, and have way too many components.
Also, I had an idea for an Overworld boss, I'm typing it up right now. It's based off this weird dream I had, but I'm altering it for it to make slightly more sense in Minecraft. Here's the dream, if you want to read it:
It was noon. I found myself in the center of a very large, flat field, surrounded by mountains. Behind me was a structure not unlike the temple from Shadow of The Colossus (imagine a large natural stone pillar with a castle carved into it). Eight p white glow. illars dotted the landscape, letting out a I gazed around, curious as to why I was there.
I slowly became aware of a slow and steady pattern of vibrations, when I took notice of something traveling through the mountains - a massive, six-legged creature, at least 16 blocks tall. Those vibrations were footsteps. I realized it was heading straight for me, and panicked. I sprinted towards the castle and tried to find somewhere to hide. As I ran in, I noticed a large glass case that held what looked like a small thundercloud.
The vibrations continued, and the creature let out an echoing roar. Minutes passed, and suddenly the vibrations stopped. The creature roared again, and I heard the sounds of plopping, or maybe flesh hitting the ground. Smaller screeches were heard, and I heard skittering - when small arachnids came skittering through the halls of the castle, right at me. I ran to a door and slammed it shut behind me, backing against the wall in terror. An arachnid threw itself at the door, and exploded, destroying it and a few blocks surrounding the frame. The horde of creatures was allowed pursuit. I dug downwards, and broke into a complex cave system. These creatures continued to follow me, pouring in from the surface to get me. The deeper I got into the earth, it seemed that more of these creatures followed, and their attacks more frenzied. If I attempted to lock myself in somewhere, they would simply explode, sacrificing themselves so they were allowed to bite at my flesh.
I continued fighting them, and soon found myself near the surface. I came to a sinkhole, where sunlight filtered through. I backed into the center of the hole, and the creatures ran towards me, but coming into contact with daylight, they jumped back, hissing at me. Another large roar rung through the caves from the surface, and I turned around. The six-legged beast roared at me again, and I had no choice but to face it. I drew an arrow and shot it in the chest, but apparently to no effect. It simply screamed in anger, protesting how it couldn't reach me. It made a low bellow, and a few of the creatures started to sizzle similar to a creeper, running forward. I dodged their sacrificial explosions, and ran to a cave that led to the surface. I found myself near the castle once more.
I dodged the six-legged creature's stomps from its larger limbs, and grabs from its smaller pair of limbs. I shot more arrows at it and braved its attacks enough to attempt a slash at its feet with my sword, but again it seemed to simply enrage it further. It snapped and bit at me, chasing me with slow movements. I ran inside the castle, and came unto the glass case containing the cloud. I broke part of it, and the rest of it shattered and fell apart. A thunderstorm rolled in, along with pouring rain. A lightning bolt came down, and struck the massive beast. It seemed lightning was the only way to harm it.
I remembered the eight pillars strewn across the field, and decided to investigate them. I chose a different path outside, avoiding the small arachnids. The beast was on the other side of the castle from me, so I had time to make it to a pillar. The small arachnids were now able to be outside without burning, although they were weakened. I approached the pillar, which had strange blue runes glimmering across its surface. I struck it, and a powerful lightning bolt came thundering down and struck the ground near me, setting a small arachnid aflame. However, the runes shifted to a reddish color. The larger beast slowly approached, roaring at me again. It suddenly vomited up more of the small creatures, which I battled off until the beast was near enough. The runes had finally shifted back to blue, so I hit the pillar once more, and the lightning bolt targeted the creature again. It screamed, and it appeared to be hurt from the blast. Small patches on its skin turned red, and crackled with electricity. I snapped a few arrows at it, and they actually did damage. The behemoth belched up more of those creatures, who threw themselves at the pillar. The behemoth swiped at the top of the pillar, destroying half of it with a crack of thunder. The creatures blew themselves up at the base of it, completing its destruction.
I managed to repeat the process with another pillar before I woke up.
This is a really good idea, I don't think many people would be willing to share a personal experience like this, cudoos :wink.gif:
Modern things are too complex for Minecraft, that's that problem. Modern things take a long, advanced process to make, and have way too many components.
I never said it was easy, but it should still be possible.
I mean, what were we as a species even 100 years ago? 1,000?
I appreciate the criticism and all, but I HATE it when people use that excuse. I'm not saying it's wrong to believe that, but the goal of minecraft isn't to be medevil. Its not an excuse, its a well structured opinion. Minecraft's technological development hasn't even crossed over into the Common Era, let alone into the modern era. There are ways to achieve the same effect without putting something ridiculously out of place into Minecraft. You could replace copper wire with redstone, or a variation of redstone that can build up energy if you must, along with stone or magic pumps and pipes. You could also take a simple techonolgy approach like that of Better than Wolves, and limit it with things like "soul urns" instead of requiring titanium. Do you see what I mean?

Hmm... Well... Maybe sometime I can get into dungeons for the Water dimension, like Sunken ships and Underwater Cities? But my major suggestion for the Water dimension is this:
- like the overworld, it should actually have some Ocean biomes, where there is no "crust" covering the surface of the water. This would allow for plenty of large, tropical beaches (Coconut trees anyone?), above-ground "tribal" villages or beach villages (with the straw huts and everything) and it would make the Water dimension much more of a desirable place to go to, instead of:
"Hey, I'm here, let's quickly dig a 1x1 hole and get down as far as possible as fast as possible through the layers skipping everything and trying to get to the boss ASAP. Wait a minute, there's an entire above-ground portion to this world? WHOAH."
We can make it more appealing. Just my input. I want the big beaches back in any way/shape/form!!!
