And a dragon is original? As for the Kraken, the real one, a giant squid/octupus creature is at least real only enlarged, and there is already squid in the game so the Kraken is just a larger squid.
A giant worm would fit the theme of minecraft since people spend most their time underground digging out tunnels, I wonder what could of made those odd tunnels through the ground before you arrived? A giant worm maybe? seems logical to me and very minecrafty.
A fire monster like a balrog.. lets see they added those magma's if it had arms and legs it would be pretty close to a balrog wouldn't it... A giant magma with arms and legs that spits lava.. there you go. another logical fire boss.
Something for the air thats not as redundant as an living tornado? well we dont' have very many creatures that can fly in minecraft, except oh wait the super original enderdragon. No we got well birds they fly and are generally considered in most mythologies of sky dieties or supernatural air beings, so a giant bird then that can throw you around with gusts of wind and you got to fit it on top of a mountain, sounds fun and logical.
Try adding a little more to your reply then one line of negativity, it does not make you look like a contributing member of the forums.
As for the MP solution idea, I like were its going but not so much the random spawning, perhaps change the random
spawned gates into player made ones that are not destroyed automaticly but simply the eyes or elements used to power
it go out, so it just needs new power sources to reopen to a new boss. The portals would require considerable effect to aquire all the pieces to make though so buiding one would should be a pain or in MP a group effort.
I am personally in love with the wormhole extreme mod and the wormhole extreme worlds and simply generate a new map on the newest version and then plop a stargate down in it, since its an unimaginable pain to try and use world edit to copy paste litterly millions of blocks that make up my server's main city from one map to another.. Which is why I am against any changes that would drasticly change world generation again. First it was 3 strongholds then it was random unlimited strongholds, and then it was enderportals, and larger biomes... Maps that have been heavily built on ages ago, what are they suppose to do? Most of them can not simply transfer stuff to a new map so the world file will not generate some of the new stuff.
I think the player built portals would be a sufficent compromise to world mini-bosses, but world mini-bosses would add more excitment to mining, never know when you will run into a giant worm, or jump into the nether and see a big firey monster lumbering around about 40 blocks away on a small island of netherrack.. scary.
Maybe the boss for the Skylands could be some kind of Giant Eagle, Which can shoot Aero Blasts, and can push you off the edge, and it's Death animation could be it falling, and then on impact it explodes, dropping a "Special item" which can be used for brewing a "Special" Potion

I scored 82% on the Minecraft Trivia Quiz. How much do you know about Minecraft?
over world- a giant that is solw but powerful
he would be three times as tall as the player and as a 'final' resort attack he could pck up 2x2 block areas and throw them at the player
W.D- an eel that swims around and can electrocute the player occasionally, and it'd have weak health.
Skylands- A ghost that is fast and quick it can use various spells and magicks but it has a low health.
Nether- A lava worm that randomly tunnels under the player and attacks by runing into the player

Why wouldn't water physics in the Water Dimension just work the same as it would in the overworld?
I mean, from what I'm getting, if you have a hollow space (say a 16x16x16 room) filled with air (not bubble blocks) and broke a block inside of it, water would spawn out of nowhere.
In the overworld, if you broke a block in open water, the surrounding water blocks would simply smother the air block and replace it with a water block. No need to make water magically spawn.
And I think bubble blocks should act like backwards gravel: The bubble goes upwards until it comes in contact with an air block, or a surface that stops it from rising. Holding shift could cause you to stay inside the bubble, giving you a fast ride up, with complementary oxygen.

We should focus on the main dimensions first before we get into anything like that
I think the glowing goo should be used in potions to help you see in the dark. In the deepest ocean, there should be pitch black. You would be able to place torches there, but exploring it that way would be slow and waste a lot of underwater torches.
Another, pretty random idea is that you'd be able to tame small slimes with it.
More useful idea would be an another way to craft sticky pistons.
The seaweed should be used in potions too. Seaweed potion would make you mine faster and lose bubbles slower when you drink it, like the one enchantment in the helmets.
People have brought up the potion idea a few times. It makes sense, and would be balance since it would only last for a short period of time (which of course can be extended with other potion ingrediants.)
Unfortunately someone could break a block, replace it with an overworld block and then remove that thus allowing an easy way to abuse it. In my view the best way to stop this happening is to store the co-ordinates of all blocks that have been cleared of water.
1. It was agreed long ago that in the Kyther blocks broken would spawn water rather than air. As a result to get an open air area under the crust you will need to bring down bubble blocks.
2. No, that's a bug I realized could occur. My post was talking about finding a way to avoid it.
3. That is an interesting idea. Jellomob, I'm guessing this is what you said might work.
1. We are gonna stick with the normal physics for now, Once we get to the modding, we will experiment and see what works.
I have been thinking about having "demos" for all the dimensions, so we can get feedback for them, once we have things figured out of course.
How would Naturual Gas fit it, would it just be a block with particles coming out or what.
no, think about a block of basically swirling particles that would be tinted blue. The only way to mine it would be by bottle or more practically, a pipe and pump.
The pump is a block made by making an I with titanium bars, and when activated, pulls a liquid or gas in through the green opening, and out through the red opening. A pipe is made by making an O with rubber, and it just increases a pumps range. Pumps can pull in liquids and gases, and it can store them in a tank (made by placing Titanium blocks in a U). A tank holds 3 buckets worth of a substance.
I think all of these are great, but we do have to worry about the height, but there could be different openings into the water. We could have what's already been planned, slow decent beaches, and cliffs that jut in. I love the water falls and running rivers too :tongue.gif:
But crabs in the water dimension should be hostile mobs that only spawn on sand and underwater and are like 2x4x3. Really like the piranhas though and the jungle spiders that have been suggested. Would also add sea turtles( 2x2 possibly tameable, neutral mobs that hunt jellyfish/ squid, could serve as a boat or combat helper when tamed).
Also while in water, you should still move slowly, but certain creatures don't take speed reduction and some even speed up (like crabs) while in water.
Other mob ideas:
Something like magma cubes and slimes a Bio-Cube
light blue with yellow eyes
emits a light level of 8 (bio-luminescent cube)
moves by springing to the side instead of up like the magma cube.
would drop glow goop (instead of jellyfish :tongue.gif: ), when glow goop is placed in a 2x2 on a crafting table, it makes phosphorus, which can be placed(underwater) for minimal light, or crafted with magnesium and a torch to make a really bright flare*(water proof torch)
and then maybe a clam/sea urchin
a block sized mob
c: invincible when shut, but when it opens, loot can be found inside, can be killed and replaced on land and made into basically a chest
s-u: hostile mob that hurts you by coming in contact with you, when killed drops urchin spines that could be used as the fins of the harpoons/spears

Thanks, all those ideas are pretty good. Just maybe make the crabs a bit smaller or the turtles a bit bigger, since crabs bigger then turtles seems weird.

please comment:
Extractor-for lack of a better term 2nd tier furnace:
Redstone
Blaze rods
allows for the obtaining of better materials from current ones
Iron -> Titanium
Petroleum -> Oil
Sand -> Silicon
Astron -> *Planet* Block
etc.
Generator:
Titanium blocks/bar
Copper wire
saves time and materials by powering a redstone circuit for 25 blcks and a copper wire circuit for 50 blcks when activated
Harpoon Gun: Harpoons:
Titanium bars Crawler/crab claw
string sea-urchin spines
basalt
-I really need to know how you guys use that crafting space sprite and the material sprites :tongue.gif:
