One more thing. I think it would be good to make all of the main dimension portals in the same 'nether portal' shape, and all of the boss portals in the vanilla 'end shape'

There will probably be post End Game content, so it doesn't have to be the end of the game.
Now that I think about it, yeah, there should. Perhaps mobs get tougher, with flaming skeletons, armored zombies, etc.? Perhaps a tougher version of Hardcore mode?

Thine made a thread about this a while ago, but I haven't seen him in a while...
I was thinking about something. Maybe as just a little theme, with no real purpose but I think it is kind of cool, we could have it so that some adaptation of pigs appear in every dimension. Regular pigs, zombie pigmen, winged pigs, and sea pigs. As in that weird squishy thing that lives on the sea floor, but we could make it white and give it a pig face. I think it would be neat but its not important, just throwing it out there.

Minecraft makes me feel like I'm three. Playing with blocks and afraid of the dark.

A post-game superhard mode sounds cool, but we don't want to force this on anyone, just be a new option, like the dragon egg crafted with some other things makes an oblisk that can toggle superhard mode.
You know how in the OP there is the 'new mechanics' idea? I was thinking about that, and I came up with an idea.
The overworld would have the enchanting table, as well as redstone
The Nether would have the potion brewer (change crafting recipe so it uses netherrack instead of cobble. Also, to obtain bottles, you could smelt soulsand into soulglass, then smelt again into normal glass), and the 3 item improvement liquids
The Skylands would have some kind of magic system. I was thinking it would be like this: An empty wand is created with a stick and some kind of rarish (gold-level rare, but only in veins of 1 or 2) gem. Then the empty wand is placed in an enhancer, made from 5 of the gem and 3 glass, in a
shape. The enhancer is EXP and solar powered. The higher its light level is, the faster it will go. However, the faster it goes the more EXP it will need to do the same thing. At light 15, it will need 1.5 times as much EXP for the same results as light 0, but will go 3 times faster. The interface has a single slot in the middle, with a sunlight indicator on top, and a plus button below the slot. The plus button allocates EXP to the enhancer.
The enhancer can do two things. It can 1 charge empty wands, and 2 repair depleted tools.
1: Wand-filling. This works similar to enchanting. The number of EXP levels given will determine how good the wand is and how many uses it has. However, you do not choose what the wand will end up doing, only how good it is and how long it lasts. The available wands are:
Normal:
Earth
Fire
Air
Water
Rock
Light
Electricity
Ice
Rare:
Void
Gravity
You decide what they do... charging wands takes 20 minutes at light 15, and 60 at light 0, but is cheaper. Which might you want to do depends on how conservative and impatient you are.
2: Repairing: No exact numbers yet, but I'm thinking that the more you repair a tool, the more EXP it will cost to repair it again. This goes by the number of repairs, not by the amount repaired. A 10% repair will be the same as a 90% repair in how much the next one costs.
The Waterlands would have the teleporter. Crafted in sets of four with a material from the trenches, along with some enderpearls. Maybe all of the magic-related stuff in minecraft would need an enderpearl to craft? Anyways, all you have to do is place two. Upon placing one, you will get a GUI for what to name it. When right-clicked, it opens up a list of placed teleporters in that dimension, along with the EXP cost to teleport. Select one and click teleport. You will then instantly go to the teleporter you selected, at a cost of 1 EXP level for any teleport, plus a distance-based factor.
For teleporting less than 8 chunks, it costs 1 level total.
8-16, 2 levels
16-32, 3 levels
32-64, 4 levels
64-128, 5 levels
And so on, though you shouldn't really ever need more than that. 1 chunk is 16x16 horizontal blocks, by the way. 64x64 chunks is a full map (the item made from paper and a compass, not the file)
Something to do with EXP in the Nether might be necessary, but don't make potions cost EXP, do something else.
Magic?....
Umm,
The minecraft community does not like magic, the minute a thread about it pops up, it gets knifed and shot repeatedly...
One more thing. I think it would be good to make all of the main dimension portals in the same 'nether portal' shape, and all of the boss portals in the vanilla 'end shape'
I guess,
Side dimensions will have varying portal shapes then.
Movement: swims in lava, can come out to make arc attacks, raise its head out for mouth attacks, and slither on land during the land phase.
Arena: a netherrack platform at lava level, it's surrounded by a lava ocean.
Ability: it destroys any blocks it touches, it decides to destroy a little of the platform if it loses 1/5 of its total life, and breaks things if you attempt to build them.
Fireballs: shoots many ghastballs(reflect, they won't break blocks) and a few small magma cubes. Charges attack by inhaling.
Lavabomb: fires an exploding blob of lava with a radius of five. Charges attack by puking in its mouth. The lava lasts 5 seconds.
Tail slash: an instant attack it uses if you try to build up.
Lava wave: a wave that happens when it's under lava, it covers half of the platforrm, lasts 15 seconds.
Arc: it arcs from lava to nearby lava, it can use this to damage the platform by going through netherrack instead.
Firestorm: fires many ghastballs that don't break blocks, a lot of ghastballs. It can also through big ones that have to be blocked then hit(high damage).
Weakness: ghastballs and sword(it rarely gets in range of attack).
Land phase: an assult when it slithers on the platform and sometimes curves under the platform and surfaces somewhere else, it chases, slashes, and uses mouth attacks. The phase activates after it has 2/5 health left, in this phase it can be attacked by breaking the segments from the back to front, you get a damage bonus on the back.
It drops a Magma Globe, and it can be used to access the Enderdragon.
.....****. I keep posting on the last of the page, so no one notices me. Jellomob, can you check 3 pages back, you may of missed my post.
Meanwhile, another boss idea. And a key for boss suggestions.
Green is for Overworld bosses
Red is for Nether bosses
Blue is for Water dimension (I like the Hydroplex name, myself) bosses
Yellow is for Skyland bosses.
Black is for Side dimension bosses
Dark swarm
Appearance
As a shapeshifter, he has no true appearance, but he can take the body of a shadow of a minecrafter or one of any boss you have faced (other than Ender dragon.)
How to reach
You must go through a hall of mirrors dungeon in the Nether, which is filled with illusions of mobs, fake passageways and trick mirrors. to enter it, you must of faced at least two bosses, otherwise the door will say, 'Your memories are not enough, to witness the illusion you must fight' You will then get to a room with a chest and a mirror floor. When you run towards the chest, your reflection will not follow. The Minecrafter clone of Dark swarm will then rise from the mirror, once you get within a block of the initiating the fight.
Arena
The arena will take the form of the arena that you fought the boss he is emulating in.
Movement type
It depends on the boss he's emulating.
Method of attack
He emulates all bosses you fought, using a weaker, slower version of their attacks.
Effects on landscape
Again, it depends on the boss you are emulating
Vulnerabilities/defeating
You must defeat all the boss's forms, which have a quarter of the normal version's health. Once you defeat all of those, he will become a dark version of you, attacking with the same damage and same health as you. The only difference is he will not regenerate health. Once you kill him, he will leave the chest for you
Death/death animation
He sinks into the mirror floor, becoming your own reflection again
Drops
He drops a magic mirror, which when held acts like a map (only with four times the area), but if you right click it, your mouse is freed and you can teleport to anywhere on the map where you left click. Right-clicking locks your mouse in place again. It only works in the Overworld, though.
Edit: I got an idea for the game's story
The world was populated by animals and humans at first. And creepers, but they were peaceful. Human strongholds were the largest, most grand retreats, accepting any sentient creature to enter. But then, an evil wizard tampered with the dimensional fabric in secret in the basement, and a large portal opened up, which sealed itself up afterwards. It was inhabited by Endermen, a dark, slender, humanoid with eyes that pierced your very soul. The Endermen possessed the mind of the wizard once they killed him, opening up four dimensional portals, one to heaven, one to hell, one to the endless seas and one to the endless land. And they flooded in. On the land, they raised the dead, massacred the humans, enslaved the creepers and mutated the animals. In the lava, they mutated the inhabitants there, tormented the dead into and endless rage, created beings of fire and killed all plant life. In the skies, they corrupted all great beasts, made the sun blinding, created strong gusts of wind and caused honoured dead to fall to the land. In the water, they darkened the seas, killed many inhabitants, locked the remainders under the crust and made dangerous undersea predators. All worlds were flung into chaos, and it's up to you, one of the few survivors, to defeat the leader of the Endermen, restoring peace and order once and for all.
There are a lot of technical things that make this pretty much impossible, sorry :sad.gif:
Mirrors would require an enormous engine overhaul, it just wouldn't work well.
And the boss changing forms and such would require some complex coding I believe...
I actually did get the idea from Terraria, in fact. Although, I was thinking it would be a separate game mode like Survival and Hardcore unlocked by killing the dragon. I thought of the idea when people said the armor made the game too easy, because an alternate version of Hardcore that just disables game features (like no beds, no breeding, adding a stupid crafting limitation, etc) was a BS idea.

The boss would replace itself with another one that's a different form and has the same health, it's how pokemobs evolve in the pokemobs mod, and I think the boss fits the end better than the nether, because it just seems right.
IDK. Hopefully not something cheesy that starts with Robo-.
I'll call it Clock for now.
Appearance:
A large robot. In hover mode, it has a ring of energy below it. In fly mode it has several rings of energy coming out of it's hands.
How to reach:
In strongholds there are fake End portals. When you step in it, you are surrounded by gravel and fall into a portal that looks like mechanical parts. It is lined with redstone. There is a hidden piston door on one side of the wall with a hidden pressure plate. It opens up when you step on one of the stone pressure plates and you take two redstone from the portal to drop on two wood pressure plates. The door opens up and there is a chest in the room. It is filled with redstone and various other items like switches, pistons, buttons and random blocks. It sometimes contains TNT, too. You have to use three of the redstone to repair the portal and a switch to activate it. There was a redstone missing which is why you need three more redstone instead of 2. When you flip the switch, the floor falls down and you go into the portal.
Where is the boss found? How does the fight initiate?:
Around where you come out of the portal at, it's surrounded with pressure plates. When you step on it, the robot is released from a cage. It's a piston operated cage. It goes into fly mode and flies above your head for the first part of the battle.
Arena:
Piston traps on the floor, along with TNT 'mines' like in minefields. If anyone else wants to change anything, it's fine. It's surrounded with iron block walls and a hidden piston door. The piston door will have a secret loot chest. It has a special object called a "Kill Code". You right click with it in your hand on the wall by the chest.
Movement type:
Three modes. One mode is hovering. It floats several blocks above the player's head, sending small rays down that look like redstone wire, kind of like Ghast fireballs and Blaze fireballs, but several of them go in a chain. The second mode is flying. It flies like the Ender Dragon. It shoots 'gears', which are just retextured snowballs that do damage. The third mode is ground mode, where it walks around and attacks like any short-ranged mob, but it also can jump. When it jumps, it has a 'spring' animation in it's feet. It also has a pound/smash attack where it does a crater the size of a creeper explosion.
Method of attack:
See above.
Effects on landscape:
Piston traps open when player looks at robot.
Vulnerabilities/defeating:
Sabotage the piston traps and hit it's 'power core' on it's back. The piston traps are optional to destroy, of course, but it makes it a lot easier.
Death/death animation:
Loud screeching noise like a non-oiled part, and it begins to explode and splits into the 2 arms, body, and head. It also drops it's two legs. The arms and body flop around, but the head is a full-fledged new boss. I will leave it up to everyone else to create the head boss fight.
Drops:
Two legs. The arm and body mobs flop around, and when you kill them they drop the respective part. So does the head. You can retrieve one of the two 'power cores' dropped by the main mob to activate the return portal, and the second one can be used to craft a friendly mini-robot.
NOT DONE.
Also, the arena has several ores. One is called 'Pistonium', it creates pistons that can push obsidian and bricks. Extremely rare and hard to obtain. Another is Gate ore. It can be used to create compact gates by crafting it. It's mildly rare, and Clock drops it. It's chest has tons of metal gears and what looks like clocks inside it, and it's eyes flash like a really fast redstone clock. That part's optional, though.
BTW, think of how much memory it will take to have all these dimensions.
And clock is located in a side dimension to the Overworld called The Red.
OK, I think that's enough boss suggestions for now
We need to focus on getting the technical stuff done, like the diving suit mechanics and the tier's for the suits.
Diving suits replace sprinting with swimming which is like the flying in singleplayer commands, and it would be nice to have smart movings swimming animation, the current swimming is stupid. Every type of suit recipe has certain things in common, and the only nessesary parts of the suit are the helmet and chestpiece.
Helmets have a glass pane in the center, very similar to the normal helmet recipe, helmets will suffocate you if you wear them without the chestpiece, because the helmet blocks fresh air as well as water. The glass pane is obtainable if the player can find sand and stone on the crust.
Air Tanks: there is an air tank for eack teir, they are crafted by placing four of the material in a ring shape. If the player surfaces(leaves the water)the tank is refilled to 25% max. The tank won't empty if the helmet isn't worn.
Scuba Chestpiece: crafted like a chestplate but using an air tank replacing the center item.
The other parts of the suit aren't essential, they're really just pants and boots, but they underwater increase speed and obviously protection when used with the helmet and chestpiece.
Oh, and they also give an unrealistic increase to the tank, to give them more use, without them the tank has half of the air than it would with them.
Tiers:
Leather: easily achievable, just add a crust mob that drops it. 5 minutes of air.
Iron: who needs an iron ripoff when we can use iron? 10 minutes of air(realistic actually)
Aquamarine: as rare as gold, between iron and diamond, as strong as stone/chain on land. 20 minutes of air.
Sapphire: has special properties, as strong and rare as diamond and not affected by water, 45 minutes of air. It can only be found in the midnight zone, and is often exposed in trench sides.
Appearance:
A large robot. In hover mode, it has a ring of energy below it. In fly mode it has several rings of energy coming out of it's hands.

You could use my idea. Like, to change form it would die, but not drop loot. There would be some kind of variable that would make it restore it's health. And it could take the player skin and just make the mirror look like it. Also, if you aren't connected to the Internet, it would use the default skin.

You could use my idea. Like, to change form it would die, but not drop loot. There would be some kind of variable that would make it restore it's health. And it could take the player skin and just make the mirror look like it. Also, if you aren't connected to the Internet, it would use the default skin.
