Well, I rarely make sprites these days (the last ones I made were some oddly colored mushrooms for Minecraft several months ago...) so I might as well stick around and draw things.

Its portal is made from glowstone and activated with a ghast tear. Islands are always separated, and have water flowing down them. There is stone and dirt and grass, but no ores. There are golden trees that sometimes drop golden apples, and the grass and tree leaves are golden.
The MOBs consist of peaceful testificate angels (they can't be killed, hit one and you will be struck by lightning) and flying pigs that you can kill for food. There are dungeons and temples with treasure to be looted, but they have tough guards. Stone cubes with single runic eyes will slide out of the walls and swarm you, and they can only be damaged with pickaxes. Chillers (the ice equivalent of blazes) will slow you down with ice blasts. They drop frost rods, which can be used for freezing potions, but the rods cannot be turned into dust. Worst of all, there's the most powerful enemy, diamond guardians, cyan knight statues with large swords and shields, who will come to life at the entrances of doors and gates to fight you. In some rooms, there will be cyclops giants who throw boulders at you.
Basically a dumbed down version of the Aether. It has to be dumbed down, otherwise it makes the Nether and the Overworld look pitiful + anything too complex in minecraft is terrible and doesn't belong.
In the chests in these dungeons and temples, there are sky talismans. Combine a sky talisman with blaze powder and an ender pearl, and then you will get an eye of ender. Therefore, Aether travel is necessary if you wish to access the End and beat the game.
Also, the dimension should be called the Sky Dimension; I just said Aether so you understand what I mean.

I really like some of these ideas, the stone cube could be like a disguised slime like enemy right? I looks like stone, but when you hit it it comes to life and attacks you!
I also like the fact that pickaxes work better on them than swords, it mixes up combat a bit.
A frosty version of a blaze would fit better in one of our possible Water dimension side dimensions which is mainly an ice-y dimension, the idea has been brought up by several users throughout this thread and it seems like this mob would fit there better.
A freezing affect could be implemented as well now that I think about it, you are frozen in place for 3 seconds or so, and take small amounts of damage during that time before you bust out of your frozen tomb. There could also be an anti-freeze potion or something, which would basically be the fireproofing potion but for ice.

That isn't how I want the freezing potion to be. The freezing potion should stop your movement, but not encase you in ice, because that would be quite overpowered. Imagine trying to fight a Chiller and getting frozen and then having to smash the ice and get water all over the place and be suffocating in the ice and water, that would be terrible.
Chillers are creatures who are more wind-like, but they have ice rods around them. Basically, they're small tornadoes with ice rods floating about and a head made of ice that looks like a carved pumpkin. Cold air elementals would not fit in a water dimension :biggrin.gif:
Also, there are oceans in minecraft (and extremely freaking massive huge ones at that) so what would the point of an all water dimension be? My idea for the Sky Dimension is kind of an ice/air dimension, in contrast to the Nether, a firey hot dimension with little amounts of air. :tongue.gif:

A wind elemental, That could work in the sky dimension. But if we make the sky dimension also an ice dimension, We might be cutting into someone's territory, namely The Isles thread.
And I want to avoid any thread to thread conflict at all costs.
What if we have 2 separate mobs, one an ice elemental, the other a wind elemental?
One would go in the ice dimension, and freeze you with it's ice-based projectiles. The other would be in the sky dimension and would push you back with it's wind-based projectiles.
Basically, the Water Dimension exists because the overworld oceans will never be deep enough to hold all the content we've been planning, the Water Dimension will be basically all ocean with the exception of the "Crust" idea that I brought up. It allows us to have much more detailed underwater content than the overworld ever could.
And also because it fits nicely into the element theme we have going here with the main dimensions
Overworld: Earth
Water Dimension: Water
Nether: Fire
Skylands: Air
The End: Void
(Actually, a more expanded version of The End that is infinitely expanding, and has its own boss portal. The Enderdragon will be given a new dimension that will become the boss dimension of this "Expanded End")
Ps the said that your not allowed to do that on this board???
Pss i made it 16 x 16 pixels so it fits the minecraft size
Psss aquamarine's is better than mine
So... We seem to be having eyes for just about every main dimension. Eye of earth, Eye of the nether, eye of ender (for the expanded end)... Maybe all of the different eyes would, after they are acquired, lead you to the boss portal for that dimension. As I've said previously, it would make sense for endermen to be in every dimension. So if you combined their enderpearls with some kind of hard to get material from that dimension, you would make a eye of whatever dimension. When thrown, it would fly towards the boss portal, just like how eye of enders work in vanilla minecraft. I'm thinking that, for crafting, you would have an enderpearl (duh), combined with one of the following materials
Overworld: I'm thinking slimeballs might work, as would 8 mossy cobble. Or it could just be a diamond, especially if the boss has something to do with diamonds
Nether: Blaze powder and magma cream (which drops from the magma cubes). I'm not considering anything that has been decided that will be added to the vanilla Nether, so feel free to object. This also applies to the Aether and Water dimension
Aether: 1 gravitite (or something similar) plus 1 drop from a rare mob
Water dimension: A drop from something found at the bottom of trenches
Eye of ender: 1 of each of the other 4 eyes crafts 1 eye of ender. Leads you to a (static) portal to the expanded end
Note: When you try to use an eye outside of its dimension (except the eye of ender) It will teleport you to a random spot in that dimension. And by random, I mean in midair, in lava, deep underwater... or possibly even inside of blocks.
Also, you don't need the eyes to activate the boss portals, only the expanded end portal. Or maybe you just need one to activate the portal. Either way would be fine.
Hope this makes sense!
EDIT: Also, it would benefit everyone if you put all the things that have been decided (like that seriously long post about the Nether) in the OP, so that people who haven't been with this thread since the start can see what you have already decided and not waste their time suggesting something that has already been decided/replaced/rejected
EDIT 2: I think it would be a good idea to have multiple things like this, and by things like this I mean things that have a separate version for each of the four dimensions
ermmmmm... How did everyone just miss my post here? Probably because its at the end of the page. Feel free to read it now!
If Facebook, Myspace, and Twitter were all destroyed, 90% of teens would go insane. If you're one of the 10% that would be laughing at them, copy this into your signature and hope it happens.
The End: Void
(Actually, a more expanded version of The End that is infinitely expanding, and has its own boss portal. The Enderdragon will be given a new dimension that will become the boss dimension of this "Expanded End")
Now thinking about it, I believe it will be more appropriate to call the Enderman dimension Ender and the Boss realm The End.
Mars. Red, dark, high sky, many mob opportunities, little water, big rivers, ice caps, alien villages, frigid caves, maybe an o2 supply, martian tools, slightly slower higher jumping,no ceiling, spaceships, saucers, all in cube. There could be a specific way to get there, like making a custom rocket and putting a special gas/launcher block at the bottom, maybe a beam up system... A lot could be done with this. Including RED CREEPERS! The journey to the red planet.
No reason for a water dimension. everythig dont have to be elemental. but i think this would require a ``questmodeยดยด besides survival and creative. otherwise i like it. i like it alot!
The adventure mode that never was....
We plan on having our own adventure mode, and maybe a story to go with it.
I noticed people were talking about dimension exclusive gems, maybe they all have gems with the same stats, the same rarity, but different exclusive enchantments and abilities?
Emerald: overworld gem
Ruby: nether gem
Sapphire: water dimension gem
Citrine: sky dimension gem
Onyx: end gem
They each have minor abilities that can be enhanced with enchantments.
ermmmmm... How did everyone just miss my post here? Probably because its at the end of the page. Feel free to read it now!
I missed it! I'm sorry :sad.gif:

Yep, we were discussing that a while back, and that seems to be the way to go
As I've said previously, it would make sense for Endermen to be in every dimension. So if you combined their enderpearls with some kind of hard to get material from that dimension, you would make a eye of whatever dimension.
Indeed, it would make sense. What If we had different "Ender" mob for each main dimension? Then it wouldn't be so redundant with Enderman all the time
When thrown, it would fly towards the boss portal, just like how eye of enders work in vanilla minecraft.
That's the idea! But, then again, the eye system always annoyed me. I had to go on creative and through dozens of those eyes just to find a stronghold. It's not a very effective system.
What if they worked like a compass and the pupil points toward the stronghold? Pupil has 2 sides, that might get confusing...
What about this?
I'm thinking that, for crafting, you would have an enderpearl (duh), combined with one of the following materials
I have a feeling we will end up having 8 eyes. One to find the strongholds, another to abort back to the dimension like the "Eye Of Earth" does.
Overworld: I'm thinking slimeballs might work, as would 8 mossy cobble. Or it could just be a diamond, especially if the boss has something to do with diamonds
Mossy cobble and slimeballs are too easy to get, diamond would work with the new system I mentioned above. Maybe 2 diamonds? Or 4? 8 diamonds might be a bit overkill.
Nether: Blaze powder and magma cream (which drops from the magma cubes). I'm not considering anything that has been decided that will be added to the vanilla Nether, so feel free to object. This also applies to the Aether and Water dimension
I think we already have a nether eye as a mob that you defeat, and then drops as an item. Maybe The dimension abort eye could be crafted with netherwarts and blaze rods? Like how the Eye of Earth is saplings and lapis.
AetherSkylands: 1 gravitite (or something similar) plus 1 drop from a rare mob
No aether allowed! We do not call it that anymore, just the skylands or the sky dimension ok? We don't want to confuse people into thinking we are including the aether in our mod.
We are making our own, superior sky dimension that isn't gloomy as hell.
Water dimension: A drop from something found at the bottom of trenches
Gives meaning to the trenches, gonna add to the OP, Which I have been slowly updating for 4 days now. Unfortunately, I seem to have hit a dead end... But I have a few ideas and I will get started on updating again right now.
Eye of ender: 1 of each of the other 4 eyes crafts 1 eye of ender. Leads you to a (static) portal to the expanded end
THIS IS PERFECT! ENDERPEARL IN THE MIDDLE, THE OTHER 8 DIMENSION EYES AROUND IT....
Oh crap, this is fitting together perfectly, I'm gonna have to add an "EYES" section to the OP now.
When you use a "finder eye" outside of it's native dimension, nothing will happen.
When you use a "abort eye" outside of it's native dimension, it sends you to that dimensions spawn point, or to the spawn point you set with a dimensions bed equivalents.
You will need 12 "finder eyes" of that specific dimension to activate the boss portal of that dimension.
Hope this makes sense!

I have been working on doing that for 4 days now! It's harder to do than you think! :angry.gif:
EDIT 2: I think it would be a good idea to have multiple things like this, and by things like this I mean things that have a separate version for each of the four dimensions
It would simplify things, but we still need to have the dimensions be varied in other things, like how you collect certain items.
Sorry buddy, that pig ain't gonna fly here.
...what is wrong with that pig's legs? D:
Yeah, I love it!
We could use more sprite artists like you in this thread.
Thanks bro. :smile.gif:
D: I'm not a bro!
xD Lol no problem.
Oh, You're a brah, not a bro?
Sorry, it's hard to tell gender over the internet! :tongue.gif:
