I have a question, why can't side dimensions have bosses? I thought that the difference between side and main dimensions was that main dimensions are mandatory, while sides aren't. A boss for a side doesn't make it mandatory, so why not?
Terrain: Lots of beaches, sand, frequent oasises, palm trees and rare treasure coves
Portal: place 9 glistening melons on your crafting bench to get 1 glistening melon block, then make a portal out of it and activate the portal with glowstone dust.
Special structures:
Treasure coves, caves with the entrances covered in vines, it is lighted with glowstone and contains chests filled with gold and diamond items, but it would be mostly gold, it would be heavily guarded by both kinds of spiders, poisonous and normal.
Volcanoes, big stone mountains filled with lava, with obsidian at the bottom.
Mobs: Spiders (both kinds), squids, zombie islanders (zombies with tiki masks and brown cloth loincloth).
minerals: no special minerals

Be caring, please help my dragon hatch by giving him a little click.
-The end has to be THE END-
I think that the end needs access to all other dimensions.
That will mean the EoE has to be crafted with four unuiqe items of each dimension.
Ex.Nether:blaze powder
And it will mean there will be four different types of enderman for each world.
(Because the end has to be accessable after all dimensions and has to be the final)
Ah, well then, water dimension it is. I might have missed it but I don't think anything was posted about it other then "being added soon". I haven't read other players comments, so I'm hoping nobody covered it yet...anyway...
Water Dimension
I like "The Deep" or "The Kyther" like you suggested for a name.
The boss could be a water elemental called Clepsydra(literally "water thief"/ Greek word for water clock -Wikipedia)that can go into the water and come out from anywhere. Not going into too much detail, but you get the point and hopefully can expand it.
The portal could be made from seaweed surrounded by mossy cobblestone. but you have to activate each piece of seaweed with a pearl, obtained from very strong clam-based mobs (or they're difficult to find in coral surrounded by other mobs like sharks). This would all make underwater so much better. :wink.gif:
I enjoyed the post, and hopefully Mojang will be able to implement all this.
[EDIT] darn, right above they be talking about fishies. XD
This is a great idea but r u going to make it or do you think its going to be implemented. If you're making it then maybe a second level boss could be something like a bunch of zora warriors but called merscythes or something and a third level boss, if you are basing this on the aether's boss structure, could be something like Poseidon. As for an order of dimensions: Overworld:Obsidian portal= Nether:Glowstone portal= Aether: EnchantedGravitite portal= Kyther. Oh and side dimensions may not be a good idea as there aren't many good aimless dimension mods.

Multiple level bosses isn't a bad idea. We do, however, plan on making the dimensions all accessible from the overworld, so you can go to the main dimensions in any order you want, instead of needing to go to nether then to aether then to kyther etc.

If Facebook, Myspace, and Twitter were all destroyed, 90% of teens would go insane. If you're one of the 10% that would be laughing at them, copy this into your signature and hope it happens.

I think they would be more like mini bosses, since there optional.
Blase Arch: a giant blase that shoots ghast ball fires homing blase rods and spawns blases!
Health: 10x the damage of a ghast ball.
Weakness: ghast balls.
Obsidalisk: a giant obsidian snake that attacks... well, like an apocalyptic void snake. It has 27 segments each looking like an obsidian block, always, at least one segment is glowing red.
Health: 30(per segment)
Weakness: the segment that currently glows red can take triple damage, it can only be damaged by a diamond pickaxe.
Would you like an icthyosaur?
sure, also a plesiosaur, you know what, lets add a bunch of prehistoric sea creatures :smile.gif:
I vote for trilobites, sea scorpions, anomalocaris, those ancient squids(I forgot what there called),dunkleosteus, and opabinia
I think we are slowly moving into jurrasiccraft territory.
We probably shouldn't do that...
I kind of think that the W.D. would be kinda prehistoric, to a extent.
we could just add more non-prehistoric animals to balance it out.
edit: I think we might be ok as long as we don't add dinosaurs.
True. We could do that.
But remember, we still need it to have a minecraft-y feel (whatever that means)
I think it means its made of pixelated blocks?
It's really what the community sees as "minecraft worthy" since we are trying to appeal to the community.
I think a side dimension called ancient sea could be made, though dunkleosteus would obliterate everything with its awesomeness.
Epic, not as epic as jellyfish mind you, but still, epic
true, it would..... :laugh.gif:
The ancient sea should be a side dimension for the W.D.(we could still keep a few of the ancient mobs for the W.D. though)
I decree that the boss for the ancient sea side dimension!
edit: I just thought of how the battle might be:
it will try to ram/eat you and is invulnerable from the front,
so you need to make it smash its head into a wall to weaken it.
then either that would weaken its skull and you can attack it, or its just stunned and you hit any where but the head(I can't decide which is better).
repeat that a few times and he dies.

OPTIONAL -/- EASY

I didn't say they had to easy.
