Air Tools and can be used with some other materials to make 5.submarmines. Drystone. Found in the air bubbles, better than Airintite for tools and armor and is one of the components in a submarine.
Ways of travel: The bubble you spawn in is big. However, wateroot grows very slowly, so you might want to get to other bubbles for supplies. The first thing you want is a Pigfish. Medium speed, and can get you short distances without you drowning. However if you have drystone diving suit, it can take you further distances. If you have been fishing, and you see a dolfin... TAME IT FOR GODNESS SAKE! They are much faster and supply you with a little air however sharks favorite prey are dolfins (maybe not irl!) Soon you will have drystone blocks and airintite blocks glass and a form of propulsion system. Then you should craft a submarine, why? These are REALLY fast (maybe not irl either!) And give you an infinite supply of air, they have a 6.harpoon cannon that deals 7 damage. Now go kill the giant squid and fight The Wall of Fish.
I've noticed that each official main dimension has its own unique thing(overworld=enchanting, nether=potions), so why not give the other two something?
How about we give the aether some kind of magic and give the W.D. some sort of technology?
It makes sense to me, since the aether is a bunch of floating islands, and the W.D.....idk,but it could be something similar to bioshock(steam-punkish).
Each dimension would get more materials for its specific mechanic(nether gets more potion ingredients, aether gets some kind of mana thingy, W.D. gets materials to make there stuff)
The ender dragon could be replaced with a new boss that resists all attacks but one at a time, and changes color based on what hes weak to(ex:red=weak to potions,blue=weak to W.D. tech,etc.)(kind of like the metroid prime boss fight)
Also,brick golems(I'm improving on this idea that I posted awhile ago):
Each are made with there dimension's stone bricks(Overworld=stonebricks, Nether=netherbricks, etc)
Each golem has three abilities:
each golem spits out there dimension's diamond equivalent after killing a lot of hostile mobs(enough to not make it over powered)
each golem has two other abilities that make them unique: a passive one and a attack (passive means its always active,attack is how it fights)
Overworld:
passive:has more health than the others,slowest
attack:probably the only one that uses melee to attack,does the most damage
Nether:
passive:immune to fire,lava,etc.
causes fire to mobs that attack it
attack: shoots fire balls(like a blaze, but only one at a time)
Aether:
passive:can hover a few feet off the ground,might have the least health of the four
attack:shoots air that cause large knock back
W.D.:
passive:might rarely not take damage from attacks? Can put out fires by walking over them.
attack:shoots water(does very little damage, can put out fires),will usually try to put out fires if it sees them
Each golem can be programmed to do certain tasks(guard,follow,standby, hunt, distract,etc)and can be programed to target specific mobs(including players, but in multiplayer there's a list that you can use so the golems don't attack your friends(you type there name in and they wont attack that/those players)
each golem could be weak against golems that are a different type(ex:nether<W.D., think rock, paper, scissors)
As for the Magma cubes we have blood gems already as a drop. How about magma-skin. Magma-skin is the skin of the mob and can be used to make the noob armor.
As for string we have have the silk worms which will probably burrow into netherack and leave a trail of cobwebs.
I am planning trees for the Nether. They will be 20 blocks tall with small tufts of black/purple leaves and trunks with red scars running down them.
For feathers we have Rok's. large vulture like birds which drop a poor quality but edible wheat.
As for pigmen villagers they will live in Nether portals with a caste system on how pure they are.
I haven't been with this thread for long, and to help other new people, I was wondering if someone could come up with a list of the things that have been decided, because the OP doesn't include them.

the passive main-mob of the wd. It's swimming around and once hit, it will swim away very fast. once killed, it will drop bubbles. i'll explain later what bubbles are for.
Trank (or whatever)
you can only find these in the deep. They are hiding in cave-entrances and will try to attack you with it's 8 arms.
if you stay in distance, it will throw mines or bombs at you.
only it's body is attackable. the main-way to attack it is with some sort of underwatergun or: Bubblecannons!
now to the bubbles.
They are some kind of main-stuff-dingldy..... yea whatever
you can use them to regain air if you'r underwater.
also, you can craft some important items for underwaterliving.
1. the Bubblemaker.
By using it, bubbles will appear at you current locantions and after about 5 seconds, a bubble-block will appear! you can use these Bubbleblocks to build stuff, without having to start bulding at other blocks. on that way you can build you house middle in the ocean, where no stone is.
2.Bubbleshooter.
with this, you can shoot bubbles. these Bubbles will drag items and mobs with them. so you can use them to keep specific mobs (like Jellyfishes or these electro-eel-things) away from you.
also you can use it to shoot underwaterbombs away from you (importatnt for these octo-thingis and later for my boss-description.
3. Bubble-walls.
It acts like glass-pane. but you can walk trough it. on that way, you can build an easy underwater entrance.

as long as it has tentacles it regenerats. so you'll have to wait on the ship until it attacks and then hit its tentacles untill all 16 of them are gone.
then go underwater and try to shoot it's own bombs back at it with the Bubblegun.
Or: there's an altar at the bottom of the sea with some Pillars. each pillar has some kind of Bomb-spawner on top. use the Bubblegun to shoot these bombs at the Kraken.

it will slowly sink with alot of ink coming out of it. when it hit's the ground, it will get black, there will be a lot of ink around it and it's gone.

We already have a bubble system worked out, and it is pretty much what you posted.
You get bubbles from the jellyfish mobs as well as other mobs
1 bubble = 1 bubble on the default oxygen meter, and 30 seconds in a diving suit.
Crafting 4 bubbles together creates a Big bubble.
1 Big bubbles = 4 bubbles on the default, and 2 minutes in a suit
4 big bubbles make a bubble block, which is basically a place-able air block, but it has a texture and can be destroyed to receive 4 big bubbles back.
I love the art btw, the cave-y feel for underneath the crust is what I was shooting for When I thought up the idea.

I like the item improvement liquids. Found in the fortress wells, they would have to be fairly rare. Maybe each fortress would only have one? That would require you to make long passages for the liquid to flow down, or a way to walk there. Alos plenty of exploration :smile.gif:. P.S. I know where you got the midas tears idea from...

ok so i play an rp server and i kept getting my ass kicked by zombies every time at night and i got hungrey and started losing health so i pulled out some rotten flesh and i saw my hunger go up then instently back down and im like **** this stuff's usless and i got to my house and i start trying to think of somthing to do with this crappy item and im like CANABILIZUM the first couple times you eat rotten flesh it does reguler then slowly reguler food doesnt do as much and rotten flesh starts haveing more of an effect and you start to get weaker in the sun but at night you get stronger and soon that flesh is the only thing you can eat daylight makes you slowly lose health if your not at full hunger bar and your basicly like a vampire who eats rotten flesh your weak in the day and powerfull at night now why would somone want that well zombies ignore you till you hit them makeing it like gathering pork durring day and if you would like to switch back it will take more then it took for rotten flesh you will throwup first couple times wich will throw out spoiled food that can also be used for growing and it will take about 10 beef or some kind of meat like that till you start back on a reguler diet and like when you start you get more powerful durring day zombies notice you and you go back to normal i just like the idea of it it would help rp for vampires it would sport a challenge and when your a cannable you arent like a god your just i little more powerful so you do one like normal damage to someone wearing leather you do leather damage to iron and iron damage to diamond only it will be like adding leather you dont do as more damage from iron to leather as diamond to iron so let me know what you think i will except suggestions and well if you dont like it and its added stay in your house with torches and he will be weak like he's normal or hide

We already have a water dimension though, we've been discussing it for a few pages now.
As I have said, I do not want to have any "wood substitutes" as it would waste precious block and item IDs
We just need to be creative that's all.
Well, I can't really think of a way to put wood in the nether/W.D
maybe for the nether the trees there look demented/dying, and don't catch on fire and burn down as easily?
edit:we should at least make the ores dimension specific(sort of like in the aether mod)
We have already resolved that with the jungle crust idea.
In fact, the nether is the only dimension that currently doesn't have source of wood.
And no trees, even if they look dead, I don't think people will like it. The wood source has to be renewable btw.

actually, I thought of random underwater islands that one could build there house on(and some have small caves in them with some ore)
No blood gems. In fact no "blood" anything.
And magma cubes are dropping lava cores
They have lava cores inside them so it makes more sense than blood gems anyway
