Texture Packs are lovely, You can have a texture pack for each of your structures, but I don't need you telling me that, I know.
Since I was a little boy younger playing minecraft Alpha I always wanted to be able to just make 1 more block in the game, So I would go and change all my wool and blocks like gravel, and blah blah blah... So...
What if we could make different blocks from each common building blocks, and this could be purely asthetic or with an effect.
Eg. 1# Say I wanted different wood for flooring then I want for my house I could put my block in a crafting bench and cycle through maybe 4 or 5 different wood blocks until I got the one I want.
Eg. 2# Say I wanted my home made out of a redish wood, I could put my wood and rose red into the crafting bench and BOOM! Headshot 50+ I have colored wood
Eg. 3# Say I want to change the stone I had to tiny rocks that follow gravity like gravel and sand, instead of just using gravel, I could put cobblestone and gravel into the crafting bench, and that would give me tiny rocks... You could also make wood chips this way, and whatever you can think of.
There are tons of more examples those are just a few I thought of, anyways comment away on what you think, If you think yes, Comment yes (+ why) If no comment no (+ why) and if yes in some ways comment what you think and use the pole.
I say this to all these types of suggestions:
Adding different blocks like that exponentially increases the number of blocks in the game, and if it doesn't (I.E, using damage value to change color) it adds exponential new textures.
Plus, if you had a way to make any block do anything else (stone correspond to gravity) do you know how freaking buggy that would be? A falling piston...god, no mind is able to imagine the lag without feeling sick.

NO NO NO lol uagh I said the basic building blocks like, Sandstone wood stone and logs, Good point on the other thing but that's wrong because your crafting a block it's not like you switching it on where it is placed plus you can only do that with wood and cobblestone from their first form, this means your not doing it for each dammage value... LOL THE PISTON THINGS MADE ME LAUGH I DON'T KNOW WHAT GAVE THAT IDEA, but if you think about that leaves room for a mod that could do amazing things...

Even if it isn't with pistons, it's literally changing the game mechanics for that specific block.
Call me crazy, but that kind of implies "lag"

I don't know if you code or not but when you craft something with another block it barely adds any lag it's just like making a workbench with 1 block and creating a reskinned sand, and this can only be done with 2 different blocks.

How could that possibly be anything like what I want? The only mod i can think of is Premium wood mod.
??? maybe if they could make the biome texture choosable but generally that sounds stupid... so No. Maybe. lol. Trolol.
