As we all know, Testificates have ruled the NPC Villages. Notch said he would add Humans and Pigmans, and what do we see? SQUIDWARDS. Notch, you HAVE to fix that. Here's my Ideas on how NPC Villages should be:

The Community
First of all, Remove Testificates. REMOVE ALL. The only exeption is for the Priests, just to remember the time when Testificates ruled the NPC Villages. Now, replace the following jobs with the following mobs:
Butcher: Human
Farmer: Human
Librarian: Pigman
Priest: Testificate
Smith: Pigman
Villager: Human
Also, please make the Villager archertype spawn, to act like unemployed humans.
The Buildings
I don't came just to argue about the Villagers. The Villages need a remake, too. It should come in 3 classes:
Village
Basically, just the current village we have. Nothing else changed, exept the new Villagers.
Town
This one is a bit more advanced than the ones we have. Houses will adopt Cobblestone instead of Wood(Although huts will still be made out of Wood), and the town hall will be made out of Iron Blocks. EXTREMELY RARELY, There will be a pathway leading to a Stronghold, with wandering Humans and Pigmen wandering about inside them. There will rarely have Silverfishes. Prison Cells will mostly hold Zombies and Skeletons inside.
City
Probably the most advanced, Cities use Bricks for their houses , Obsidian for their town hall, and Cobblestone for their huts. The Town Hall uses Glowstone as their floor. There will alyways have an Nether Portal standing right next to the Town Halll, with an Nether-Side Town. On the lowlands of the Village, there will have a pathway leading to a Non-Abandoned Mineshaft, with Humans and Pigmen mining on there. Rarely there will be any Hostile Mob, because they will have lit their trails. Their Mineshafts aren't a Maze like the Abandoned ones.
Diplomacy
You will be able to trade with the village at the Town Hall, which will increase the Village's Truthness about you. The more happy they are, the better they will treat you(discount when buying with them). You can also complete Missions to them, and even help them during an attack of Hostile Mobs to make them more happier with you.
Missions
Like Notch was planning(and he never did this), there should be Quests. I am not in the mood for saying quests(Mostly because I doubt anyone from the Mojang Team will read this), so this is all about this section.
War
You can **** the village by randomly destroying their houses, attacking their villagers, or worse, Bombing up the town with TNT. If the town is enough angry with you, they will start to attack you, and they won't let you cross their town borders, nor trade with them. If you built a house, and a Village is on war with you, then it's very likely that they will destroy your house if you are close enough to them.
Nether-Side Villages
Cities that have the Nether Portal will alyways have a Nether-Side Village at the spawn point of that portal. They are almost similar to the Overworld Villages, exept that they will have far fewer Animals at their Animal Pens(Because they would have to guide the Animals to the Portal, and right after that, guiding them into the Pen. And the Mob would be scared of the Nether, and would try to flee). Also, unlike Overworld Villages, they will get Cobblestone Barriers to prevent Ghast Attacks.
New AI for Villages
I recently heard that there will be an new AI for Villagers. If this is true, here are my suggestions on the changes:
-Hostile Mobs will see Villages, and the latter will attack the Hostile Mobs
-They will alyways be Neutral, not Passive.
-They will not keep randomly looking at the Player like the current Testificates do. They will proceed on doing their jobs, and will only look at the Player when they are not working(a.k.a. Resting)
-They will only stand trapped at their houses if either they have a children(but only their mother will stay if this happens), are hiding from Monsters at nighttime, or they aren't working.
None of these will apply to the remaining Testificates.
Well, this was a long post, and I hope that people don't just avoid posting in this like they do in most other threads I create.
TL;DR Version:
GET THE TESTIFICATES OUT OF THE GAME AND PUT ON NEUTRAL HUMANS AND PIGMEN!!
Wouldn't having iron and gold houses be overkill? It would make war alittle too worth while, and people don't make gold houses in real life either...
Also, why would they farm pig zombies? That's like us farming human zombies, for the pigmen.
I was thinking for the Town Hall being something better than Iron Houses, and Diamonds would convince the player to mine them, so I thought of Gold. But fine, I'm changing it.
Yeah, I think you're right. But that is because the PigZombies act like Nether Animals, that's why I chose them. Don't worry, changing now.

These two, I also think this is very well thought out. I think that you could replace the Iron/Gold with Not Stone but the stuff Strongholds are made of (cant for the life of me think of the name) and also maybe add a couple Blocks to help the town look and feel more like a town. i aggree with The_RandmNewb, mineral blocks as building materials are overkill. and Zombie pigmen farms would be like humans with zombie farms. Also, connecting neather villages with anything on the overworld would be very difficult if not impossible. this is just a rough estimate because im not a coder.
i noticed you edited the main post, wich is good, but having iron block houses and buildings made of iron blocks was the main part i was talking about. This is because if you find a town/city you are set for life with iron.
