I think that when Notch stopped their spread infinitely, it was a good idea, although groups of 5 are not a good idea, I think that it should be doubled to 10 mushrooms in a 9x9x3 area.

Using bonemeal on mushrooms grows them to huge mushrooms with about 20 blocks, each of which drops 0-2 mushrooms when broken. Mushroom growth is, if anything, not nerfed enough.

I would go s far to say mushroom farming is nerfed, you now receive a wealthy amount of mushrooms before your eyes plus this now brings the addition of portable homes. The only downside is that automatic mushroom farming is eliminated.
Blah. I think mushrooms should be able to grow close together. I mean, huge mushrooms are much better ways to get a lot of mushrooms at once, so why should regular mushroom farming take such a tough hit?
I see where you are coming from. Personally, I don't use mushrooms much, except for occasional aesthetics or almost instant shelters, but I support anyways.
To me, mushrooms are either cheating or pointless.
You toss some bonemeal on two mushrooms and you get tons of food, or you try to grow it regularly and never come back to it because you totally forgot you had a mushroom farm(yes it takes too long for my patience :|).
seems a good idea tho
K, thanks. (I hope the mods don't get me for this thread)
