The double doors are driving me crazy. When you open a trapdoor next to another open trapdoor the one that was open before closes. Same with doors. Now, this was fixed in a pre-release which is just stupid. Why make a pre-release for a single bugfix? Just add it to the actual game! This a bug that only occurs in multiplayer before you tell me it isn't an actual bug.
So please, for the love of god, don't make pre-releases for bugfixes.
What is the problem with them releasing "an entire pre-release" just to fix this bug? You do realize they are releasing a pre-release EVERY WEEK! They have to have SOMETHING to put in those pre-releases? right? Why not fix this very annoying glitch with the first one, especially if they don't have anything else that they have in near-working order? huh?

My point is that they made a pre-release for the fix of the double doors instead of adding it straight to the game. And that is stupid.
Obviously you don't grasp how this works. When you change the code to fix one thing, you have to make certain that other parts of the code still work the same afterwards. First, you can test everything in-house, with a small staff that has other work that they could be doing, and take a month or so. The second way is you can announce "Hey! We have a new version of the code, but it's not stable yet, and we're releasing it as a voluntary download, so could everyone that uses it please tell us any bugs you find?" That way, any problems can get solved faster, and the actual, stable version can be released sooner. So if you don't like the glitch, get the patch and contribute. Otherwise you can just wait for it to come out like you would have had to anyway if Mojang didn't let people help them with testing to speed up the process.

Yeah, i made this post when i was pissed at pretty much everything. That's indeed true, so thanks for enlightening me :smile.gif:. I have to figure out how to load the pre-release to my server then.

Did you even read the post?
Now that Minecraft is out of Beta extra care has to be taken to make sure additional bugs are not created.
What he said... The bugs currently in Minecraft have to be fixed before they add more if you ask me.
