i am a teenager, and love your game, however being a teen i have no access to a credit card. what i have done until now to buy things online is to buy a visa, or American Express gift card, allowing me to buy things. But both of these cards have one restriction. You cannot buy things outside of the US. i live in the united states, and having no other option, i cannot buy the game, even though i have the money and would like to buy the game.
My suggestion is, and i think Paypal allows this, is to allow the payment of 9.95 euros, to be converted into USD (13.90 about). This way you still get your money, and i can Buy my favorite online game. I do not want this game to turn into other online games where all the good functions go to paying members, and i am left out. Please email me back with you response, or any way i can get around my dilemma. I would quite appreciate it.

Seriously, sign up for a PayPal account pronto, set up bank account payments. Takes like 3 days to verify everything ready for payments. Once that's done though you won't have a problem and it's even safer than using your card.
I fail to see why other Payment methods are needed, or at least, can be considered possible methods:
Credit cards: Paypal accepts every credit card that you can use online, if your card doesn't work with Paypal it won't work with any other service.
SMS/Phone: This option... isn't an option. Phone paying should only ever be used for small amounts, using it for large amounts is stupid. Furthermore the fees are ridiculous, well over 50% of a payment is taken by the provider.
Find a legitimate payment method that can't be done with Paypal that doesn't take thousands in fees and I'm sure notch would consider it.
Or paypal is bitching (and it dose that quite often)?
Paypal very seldom has issues, and when it does, it usually resolves them promptly.
BS. I have a paypal account, and they have restricted it for no reson and demands me to validate a BUNCH of stuff, - well thats fine and well, but when I try to do thier bidding it won't work, like "please validate your socialsecurity number, its just that - the U.S standard for socialsecurity numbers are not the same as in my country.
And with a restricted account I cant remove my creditcard from the site - and make a new account. Fine thinking there...
And thats just one of the things that sucks about paypal. But if it works for others thats fine, I just like to be able to support this awesome game to!
Let me get this straight; You registered for Paypal using the wron country and now expect Notch to put in extra work just so you can pay because of your mistake? You have a phone, right? Call Paypal, however crappy you might think they are when you call them they will happily sort out any problems you have.
Seriously call them and ask about your problem, it can easily be resolved.

Woah, you totally don't get it.
No its now my mistake, and I have been trying to fix the account and its not the wrong country (geez, how can you assume things like that on next to no basis?), but thats (here's the key part) NOT THE POINT!
The point however is the following: More people buying the game (by anymeans, banners, posts and various payment methods) ---> takes effort (a little, but still effort) ---> effort = more money ---> more money = more development of Minecraft.
Whats your problem with that?
I have seen 3 people request different payment methods. The price that Notch would have to pay to use the suggested services + the time investment doesn't work out as "worth it". He'd gain, what, $50 from the people who've requested other payment methods? The majority of service won't let him "cash out" with such a small amount.
So you can't get access to a credit card? How else do you expect to pay? It's entirely possible for Notch to use phone payments but it is not practical in the slightest, doing so would be stupid. It costs well over 50% to Notch in fees, would you be willing to pay >$60 for minecraft?

How narrowminded are you?
Where do you get your numbers from? source?
And its not just phone payment I'm talking about it's a number of various billing methods, or atleast one more.
And do you -Seriously- think that everyone that can't use paypal will make a thread/post about it!? Thats plain dumb...
This is looking less and less like a debate and more and more like an argument. Fair warning to participants: Keep it civil; do not make hostile or insulting posts or this topic will end up closed and you could end up with a suspended account or worse. Surely you can see how that would negatively affect your campaign for alternate pay methods.
And for the record, I don't think phone pay is an option - by which I mean no matter what is said here or anywhere, it will never happen.
Perhaps if citric can make clear the criteria of an acceptable alternative, interested parties will know what to look for - just bear in mind that doing it without a credit card will be tricky at best.

I've worked with numerous payment methods in my time as a Web Developer and I can catagorically tell you that phone payment is a god awful method. The point is Paypal is a method that has been replicated many times, there are hundreds of other services that Notch would well integrate but what's the point? They offer exactly the same as Paypal. If you were able to find a unique service that did something that Paypal didn't and had reasonable fees AND it was a popular method I don't see why Notch would have any objection to working with it, BUT I see no way of you finding such a service. What other methods besides credit cards, bank transfer and phone are there? Phone is a no, because the fees are ridiculous, bank transfer and credit cards can be used with Paypal.

Ask your parents to pay for you.
What if they were dead? Or paypal is bitching (and it dose that quite often)?
Should there not be anather way of paying even if it were a bit more expensive?
May it be by phone, web-bank, bodylabour, sms, order or some other creditcard site(s).

Then ask your legal guardian to pay for you.

Well I will find you a better option for use with credit cards - like this page: http://home.plimus.com/ecommerce/sellers
it allows you to create a sale site for your brand it might look like this (NOTE I only add this link as a demo for how it might look, not to sale whats on the site) https://www.plimus.com/jsp/dev_store1.j ... ageSize=32
This site DONT require some wacky regestration, that paypal will screw up anyway, for the buyer. A much better option in my opinion.

Relic of a bygone age.
