Please bear with me as I go through a suggestion for something that I have taken much time in developing and remodeling in my head.
I am sure many of you are aware of the strange dirt-floored-raised-ceiling chamber found occasionally in abandoned Mineshafts. Lets start there. This would serve as a Boss Chamber, home to the giant Colossamole. As the name suggests, it would be a very large mole, preferably wearing a hard hat :tongue.gif:.
He will fight via throwing rocks, which will cause damage. Upon death, among his (1,000?) EXP points, the player can find the new item, a Colossamole Heart. This can serve as an infinite bonemeal that never runs out. With the cost of course, of one of your hearts for each use.
Next, we move to villages. From a farmer, by trading him something of some value, you can receive beans. These grow similar to wheat, and give food. But by enchanting them, you can get Magic Beans. when these are planted, they will not grow. But, using the Colossamole Heart on it will grow it into a giant beanstalk. This will be climbable similar to ladders, and will look not unlike cacti. The beanstalk will grow way up into the sky, to a small cloud in the Skylands.
The Skylands will be as they currently appear. (Because despite Notch's words, I think his Skylands look beautiful.) Two new mobs will occupy this realm, the Sirens, and Cyclopes. Sirens, large birds with woman heads, would attack in a way not unlike the Enderdragon, BUt they are killable. Killing one will yield Siren Feathers. Making an arrow with Siren Feathers will make a Tracker Arrow. When used in the Skylands, it will lead you to the Giant Castle. Within its walls are the Cyclopes, which guard the chamber of the Giant. Many know of the disabled Giant code in Minecraft. This would be the boss of the Skylands. Killing it will yield a Giant Club. This serves as a weapon more powerful than a Diamond Sword, but using it will result in the loss of one Hunger Icon, as a balancer.
Onto the Nether, taking the Club with you, it will act like a compass, but will point towards the Lava Squid Nether boss. This giant squid sits on the surface of the lava sea. It attacks by creating shock waves of fire particles, which can set you on fire. Killing the Lava Squid yields a Squid Tentacle. This would hop on the lava like a burning item, but would not dissipate. Collecting it would be required, as this would have to be crafted with blaze rods to get blaze powder, unlike before when it was so simple. The Tentacle can also be used as a kind of grappling hook, but it can only latch onto certain blocks, Netherrack for instance.
Now that the player can get blaze powder, he can reach the End and kill the Enderdragon. Here is where I have two different possibilities.
1) The Enderdragon egg, when used as a base in a Brewing stand, creates the Ender Base. When the items from each of the other bosses are put in, it creates the Apotheosis Potion.
2) The Enderdragon egg can be hatched by placing it in a cauldron with fire underneath it. This yields a baby dragon. Its milk can be used to replenish hunger up to 5 icons. When this is used as a base in a Brewing Stand, it creates and Ender Base, and when the other items from the bosses are put in, an Apotheosis Potion is created.
The Apotheosis Potion marks the ascension to being a god. It grant Hunger which goes down half as fast, no fall damage, immunity to cave spider venom, and creative flight, with the balancer of hunger going down rapidly when in flight.
This plot is the love child of Super Mario World, Jack and the Beanstalk and The Legend Of Zelda. Sorry but it defeats the purpose of Minecraft. My honest opinion, if you don't like it, then so be it.
The beanstalk idea, yes i got it from jack in the beanstalk. Personally, I dont see where you get the super mario world or legend of zelda? I respect your opinion, dont get me wrong, but Where do you see those?
Mario - Moles in hardhats and climbing beanstalks to get to the Skylands
Legend of Zelda - Most bosses linking up.
Are there moles in hardhats and beanstalks in Mario? I only play SM64, so I guess I dont know that much about the franchise. I also never played legend of zelda, but I think it is important for bosses to link up, otherwise you are running around willy-nilly.
I think this would be a cool mod idea to make minecraft much more structured.
Thats what I was thinking. It would also make the game's ending more difficult to reach, as of now I can get to the End in anywhere from 3 days to a week, and that's not playing even half of the day.
