I don't know if this has been posted before but, me and a few of my friends think it would be awesome if Minecraft had natural occurances, like Disasters:
Tornadoes,
Extremely rare,
Vary between weak Sandstorms in flat deserts, average Dust Devils in flat, Dry grasslands and flat deserts, and full blown Tornadoes in flat grass regions(Varies in appearance by wind strength, Stronger=more rare, weaker=more common)
Earthquakes,
Not common-Extremely rare,
Vary by landscape, occur along fault lines(The Trenches inserted into the game earlier), and depend on size and strength to determine how common the will be, large Earthquakes could make some of the land fall in on itself or knock objects off walls and break glass. They could also cause tidal waves and cause minor flooding damage to coastal regions, and within a day or so's time, the water recedes to normal levels.
ASTEROIDS,
Not common-rare,
Damage range varies by size of asteroid shower, say like a hundred tiny asteroids destroy about 4-5 blocks total, and one large one destroys up to 100-150 blocks(Really decide that, I don't know how large that is.), strength depends on size that depends on the number of asteroids.
While I think this is cool, it'd be totally destructive if it gets out of hand and I'd totally rage a world if I had a creation destroyed by a tornado. I think a lot of people would be building underground.
Maybe the natural disasters only occurred on a certain difficulty, like Hard and Hardcore. Or perhaps, have a toggle setting for it?

Tht should probably be the grayed out world type option, y'know, the one stuck on normal?
this idea would make minecraft too difficult to play seeing that when you finally make a house you always have the chance of losing it because of a tornado or something
I love this idea! Destroying my stuff... it would make Minecraft alot harder! And I love a challenge! Making creepers look like nothing would be awesome...

More to come...
What if people don't want to try and mod their games? Or, if they can't?

2. IF natural disasters were to EVER be implemented, they'd only be good for HARDCORE mode.
3. I like fruit salad
