I am unhappy that Notch nerfed the weapons and buffed the enemies. Instead of doing that, he should of only nerfed the bow, and then added more enemies.
Here are my suggestions for new MOBs.
ENEMIES THAT SPAWN IN THE DARK
RAT: As big as a pig. It is brown, and is like a zombie, but with double speed and half health. When killed, it drops 0-2 teeth. (used for arrows or to create bones, 3 teeth = 1 bone)
BAT: Just as large, but it is very very weak (5 hearts). However though, they spawn in groups, and they are common in dark caves. It is dark blue rather than black, and will swoop down like the ender dragon to attack. It will fly around like the ender dragon, but it will turn away if it comes to an area with too much light. If there is no dark area for it to go to, it will despawn, so lighting up caves is a good way to get rid of bats. When it is killed, it will drop 0-2 bat wings, which can be used in flight potions.
EVIL WOLF: Angry wolves that spawn naturally in the dark on grass. They are black rather than grey like other wolves, and drop 1 pelt when they die. If you smelt an iron ingot, you will get 8 mercury (DON'T ASK ME HOW THAT WORKS, THIS IS MINECRAFT) and if you craft 1 mercury with a pelt, you will create leather. Mercury can also be used in potions to create toxic ones that do poison and nausea.
ENEMIES THAT SPAWN IN THE OVERWORLD
PIGMAN: NPC villages of pigmen that are common but small should be created. They consist of 4 huts and a campfire. These pigmen will attack you when they see you like zombies, and along with the group of pigmen in each pigman village, there is a pigman spawner in each house. Pigmen drop gold nuggets when killed, and they use gold swords. In each house is a chest with dungeon items, and each campfire uses a coal block. Coal blocks can be crafted from 9 coal, and it burns forever like netherrack but will be destroyed if it is touched while it is on fire.
GIANTS: Giants have gotten no love. :sad.gif: Notch, why would you just toss aside such a potentially formidable enemy? They should look like cyclopses with blue skin and 1 horn growing out of their head, and if they are stuck, they will smash their way out with explosive force. If they touch you, they will attack you with explosive force. :wink.gif: D: They are very powerful, and have 50 hearts like they have been coded to have. They will not be knocked back by arrows, but they will take damage from them. When killed, they drop an eye of ender. They spawn only in areas with enough room for them, and spawn in any light level, but in random chunks.
DRAGONS: Large green dragons with orange underbellies that are rare and act like the ender dragons ORIGINALLY did, swooping down for the kill. They will swoop down to attack you if you attack them, except they will also spit ghast fireballs at you and they will either be flying in the sky or they will be walking around on a mountain or a hill. Either way, they eventually stop somewhere with enough room and take a break. If killed, they drop 5-10 dragon scales, which are orange and can be used to make dragon tools and dragon armour that are better than diamond ones. When enchanted, dragon equipment is much more potent to enchantments, but there is a very large chance that you will get fire aspect when enchanting a dragon sword.
If you are picking a fight with a dragon, he will fly around, swooping down to bite you, and also spitting explosive fireballs. It is good to fight a dragon in the plains where you have lots of room to move about.
You can also tame a dragon by using a Dragon tamer. Just right click it with a dragon tamer and the sound of the dragon tamer will play, and the dragon will come down by your side for a short time. Put a saddle on it, and it can be controlled like a dog. Right click without the dragon tamer and you will ride it/get off, right click it with the dragon tamer and it will be told to sit or follow.
When controlling a dragon, right click with anything but the dragon tamer and he will spit a ghast fireball. This has a 3 second reloading time. He will constantly move unless you tell him to let you off, then he will land.
You can heal the dragon by feeding him meat.
ENEMIES THAT SPAWN IN THE NETHER:
Gluttons: Like the ones Firehazurd suggested. They are basically big mouths with legs. They should wander around, but then attack you once they see you -- I've always wondered why there isn't a MOB in the Nether that chases after you and tries to kill you, unlike the ghasts who spit explosive fireballs. They should be about as easy to fight as zombies, but they should spawn in groups and be fast, like rats.
Arch daemon: Large winged goat-like pigmen with 2 horns and red eyes. They are only found in nether fortresses in throne-room-like areas made specifically for them, and they are as large as giants. They will not move, but they will stay in place like turrets, firing blaze fireballs at you. They hold large obsidian staffs with gold crystals on the end of them, and they will also spawn zombies around them that will attack you. If you kill an arch daemon, he will drop 5 obsidian, 1 gold block, and a daemon horn, which can be crafted with 4 diamonds into a dragon tamer. Dragon tamers look like horns that have been carved into a flute-like musical instrument, and are used to tame dragons (derp). :tongue.gif:
everything is pretty good in my opinion, and notch IS in fact adding red dragons to the overworld later

If notch had not Nerfed swords, and/or made mobs stronger, Critical hit would be unless for diamond swords, and having an iron sword would be suffice for 2 hit killing. (1 crit+1 normal hit= dead enemy.) He also added 3 new monsters in 1.8., and a boss monster in 1.9 pr 6. And 2-3 new monsters in the nether in 1.9 PR 3 or 4. So Maybe giving a bit of a break on new mobs wouldn't be all that bad.
I like this idea but i think that there should be a few tweaks for it.
1. the rats shouldn't be as big as pigs. I think they should be about half as big as a pig.
2. bats will travel in a group and will hurt you for 1-2 hearts but they wont stay they will continue moving out of the cave so they could also help you get out.
3. the dragons shouldn't shoot ghast fireballs but shoot a stream of fire but has a distance limit of about 10-15 blocks and the dragon can't shoot a constant stream forever. They should be able to shoot for about 4 seconds and then have to have a cooldown for about 5 seconds so that you have an opportunity to kill them but while they are in cooldown they will swoop after you by going down low or slashing at you with their claws.
no adjustments on the nether mobs cuz they r perfect
