So, my proposal is the following: adding a new enchantment, called heat, or melt, or maybe something you suggest, that affects tools and causes blocks to drop what you would get by melting them on a furnace. Mining iron or gold using a pickaxe enchanted with this would drop iron or gold ingots, for example. It would affect every block that can be melted on a furnace, which are ores, sand, cobblestone, cactus, clay and wood. Diamond, lapis lazuli and redstone ore are meltable, but in the case of lapis lazuli and redstone, smelting only generate one redstone dust/ lapis lazuli, so I think the enchantment should be ignored on this blocks, just for convenience.
Also,, although stone isn't meltable, it drops cobblestone when destroyed, which can be smelted into stone again, so I don't know if it should make stone drop stone or not, I would like to see what you guys think about it.
About rarity, the same as efficiency is fair, as it is not much overpowered, but it's still a cool and convenient addition.
The entire enchanting system as a whole has no point. Yippie-ki-yay.
And this enchantment should also have a sword version: the meat of any animal you kill is cooked by default.

Nice idea. It's simple, useful, and about as handy as the other enchantments. I'd make it about as common as silk touch, since it'd only have on level and be of equivalent usefulness, but other than that I have no changes or improvements to the idea.
no improvements to the idea other than it would only work on ores or something because it would be annoying if your mining stone and you only get stone but you want cobble instead

There is: fire-aspect.
That just lights them on fire, it doesn't actually cook their meat (it probably should?)EDIT: Whoops, just read the wiki. Moderators: deletify this post at will!
Double Edit: Speaking of which, what the heck happened to the delete post button?
