Am I the only one who think Minecraft has gotten a little bit out of control? Whatever happened to the build and mine feel of 1.8 or below? Now, the player can beat the game? I love adding the new world, The End, but enchantment? Please! I want a game where I can build a house, dig a mine, and have the usual mobs! I don't want enderdragons, I want creepers (well, you get the point...)! Now, whenever I try play a simple survival server, I don't build a house! I build a shack, so I can craft a sword to hunt for food! I'm so sick of this! Please, respond if you want a separate download for old MC-ers! Don't destroy the game now, just add a separate do download for people like me, who want creepers, zombies, skeletons, and spiders!
I'm not sure that I like where minecraft is going either, the food thing IS a real pain, but I keep going onward, because minecraft is getting more realistic (in the need for food, btw light cows/pigs/chickens on fire to get cooked food faster) and I like the real-ness because anyone who just punch wood right off from a tree deserves some food, and maybe a magical sword or boss dragon or whatever. So um, play minecraft the way it is and be happy, or just play a better game. (assuming one exists)

The nether and end are so cool, but then the biomes are less different than they should be. Support more unique biomes!

As much as I continue to enjoy the heck out of Minecraft, I find myself in agreement. In my opinion, Adventure should have been a third game mode option rather than being tacked on to Survival.
I think it is wonderful to have the option to be able to enchant things, to encounter villages, to battle dragons and so forth. But what appealed to me the most was the straight up mining and survival aspect.
However, I think it is premature to get too upset about it. We know that the multiplayer functionality has always taken a bake seat to the core single player development. In single player, if I don't want to ever see an Ender Dragon, or enchant anything or any other gameplay element, I can simply choose not to do the things that introduce them. Now that the core game is officially released as non-beta, I think we will see more of a focus on developing the multiplayer architecture, and the power that server admins have to tailor their worlds to specific player tastes.
Regardless of which mode the game is played in, this is one of the most versitile sandbox games I have ever played. If only more developers thought like Mojang in terms of replayability, there would be way more awesome games to choose from...
Such whiney people. e_e
Don't you people know you don't have to do everything that's on Minecraft? Like making a map, making pistons, going to The End, going to The Nether.
There are mods that help fix the issue with hunger, if that's even a big deal at all. It's incredibly easy to acquire food.

I have to second this. I enjoy enchantments, potions, and the like. However, they really do make more sense as their own game mode. Although in the case of potions that leaves the player without a source of quick healing. On the one hand, that might be a good thing, since some could argue that regenerating with hunger full makes things easy enough...too easy, even. On the other, sometimes you don't have a moment to spare regenerating and need health right now. (A good solution might be to add more food crafting recipes, as many people want, and let more complicated recipes not only restore hunger, but a little bit of health, or give other, short-term, effects that are similar to potions.)
If he wish, he can "beat the game". It's not necessary to do it so, if you wish. The game don't have stages or chapters or any artificial way to limit you, so you can never ever go to the end and that's good.

Yes, i do. The bizarre in Minecraft is being missed by me, if Notch stops only in the Enderman, i'm sad.

I don't have a problem with food and hunger, in fact i like the challenge, it just makes harder to do large buildings.
Hopefully they will start working in IA and mod support, so good mods that make better some not-so-good parts of Minecraft(as biomes without almost nothing - yes, Ocean Biome, i'm looking at you) can get attention, become vanilla(official) and we will have more of mining, exploring and building. ^^
I do dislike the hunger bar to some extent, but honestly whether it's there or not, it doesn't affect my fun. Yes the game does end, and I feel like it shouldn't due to it being a sandbox game, but honestly it's not worth making a thread about it. Notch is doing fantastic things with Minecraft, and he's still making it BETTER, not worse. At this point I wouldn't want anybody else in control of the the development of Minecraft, but Notch. Remember, Minecraft can totally be in your hands. May I suggest making a bukkit server, and tweaking it to your liking with their wide selection of plugins? You could also simply connect to the thousands upon thousands of servers of your liking, finding the one that fits your needs best. If your more of a minecraft classic person..well I'm sure you get the point. If you dislike the path Minecraft is heading, there's so many ways around this, and that's all im suggesting. Notch loves to hear from players, so I recommend you complain to him about your "situation" if you can't find a way past it.
