Before I explain, allow we to take you through a journey of the few minutes before I posted this.
So I was making a secret door activated by pistons, with complex wiring to conceal them. The only thing not too secret about the door was the massive lever next to it. My friend said "Maybe people will think it's a light switch?" Well, there's no lights activated by Redstone, without using a piston or something to reveal and conceal them. So I was just wondering, a low priority add-on, but could the Mojang crew possibly add some lights that can be activated by Redstone? Highly unnecessary, but it could save a lot of work. You know, just a thought.
This makes no sense. You want a whole new lighting feature to cover up for a badly placed lever? :tongue.gif:
... not quite. If you read the OP, that's just how the idea came up. Sure, you could use it as a cover up for a "badly placed lever" (btw, it was in an cubic, open room, where would I place it?) but it would be useful for decorating. If you're wandering why that's useless, well, I said that in the OP. Besides, there's a whole lot of useless stuff in Minecraft anyway, not that it detracts form the game, IMO.
first of all is it in a house? because if it is just have a wood flooring and connect the redstone to a wooden pressure plate on the ground or if its like outside then use a stone pressure plate and conceal it into a wall with stone
Might I introduce you to Get Satisfaction? The people at Mojang have already marked a crystalline light source as planned, as they marked the fence gates planned earlier. Some have suggested that this be come redstone activated, although who knows how it will get implemented.
Perhaps a better way to conceal your switch would be to hide it behind a picture just as many have done with other secret entrances? I once came across a hidden mountain base which had a button hidden under sand that controlled a piston door hidden in a mountain face.

Hm, interesting site. Also, good idea for the switch, I'll try that.
