I want coral (like pink sugarcane that doesnt grow above water) to add to my farms. coral might be neon to add to underwater scenery.

i agree with every single thing the OP said regarding beaches and underwater terrain, and further support the idea that clay should be in large deposits that occur less frequently.

Jeb did good with bringing the beaches back, but we need them like they were back how it was at Alpha to Beta 1.7.

I remember when I saw my first gravel beach in the earlier days of minecraft, it amazed me so much. I remember almost jumping at the sight of it. :laugh.gif:

The beaches in 1.1 is a big step, but we need to take a bigger one to get back to the beaches.

I've played Minecraft since Alpha 1.2.4 or so, bought it in January 2011, in Beta 1.2. I look back at then, and backdate, and I have to say, the terrain was a lot better then. I love seeing how MC was in 2010-early 2011, before all this "1.8 terrain generator" ********. I was so excited for the new generator in 1.8, rivers, mountains, and more detailed biomes. But I still want to see the old generation, especially how it was before biomes, before the Halloween update, incorporated with the new mountains, new oceans, and new everything else. I'm thinking of sending an e-mail to Mojang, showing them this thread, and many of the excellent responses and ideas on this forum.

Totally agree, but don't you think Jeb should take it even further? I mean like adding more water mobs such as fish, jellyfish, sharks, whales and any others? Or that there should be a sedementary type of block a the bottom of the ocean? OR maybe even coral reefs? Because the ocean is technically a biome and squids are just lame.

I started playing post 1.8 and my favorite map to just be in was one that just so happened to spawn a low desert by a bay. Thinking back it's been a splurg of the same random diry,sand, & clay for every body of water I've come across. I don't mind having large caves and people that do can block off parts they don't want to deal with till later. I've had some nice fun traveling to bedrock and back to over 1000 block from where I started.

The screenshot in the op about the new beaches is ugly! That is NOT a beach fix, that is a cop-out.
