Poll: Do beaches require any extra changes to resemble Beta 1.7.3/real

Well, I thought the swamp picture would be enough to depict the problem as the problem with beaches and underwater geology crops up wherever there is a reasonably-sized body of water, but for clarification's sake, I might add an ocean biome example demonstrating the same generation problems when I get the time to do so.
Thanks for your input. If extra information is necessary to clear up any misconceptions or doubts then I will definitely address that.

I think gravel beaches were supposed to be a bug... I'm not sure. Don't quote me on this.

I MCNostalgia'd just to relive the glory days
Do I even want to go back to 1.0.0?
Edit: or /signed, or w/e shows my support the best...
As far as clay, why not make it the base of (certain stretches of) rivers and the shores of lakes, not the edges of oceans and not just in clumps everywhere? I wanted more clay than we previously had, but actually the overabundance is annoying, and you're right, the splotches are weird.
I'd also like to see oases in the desert, instead of just this sudden pools of water for no good reason. Sand next to the ocean is normal; sand next to water in the desert makes me wonder how disgustingly stagnant the water must be.
My YouTube channel is currently on hiatus, but I hope to get back to it at some point. Content is fairly random, but can be enjoyable, and is mostly game footage (mostly random Minecraft clips) from my nephews and me. Most popular MC vid so far is the one Vechs laughed at on Twitter!
Now I know: no beaches.
I loved the beaches... and now that I think about it, I always built on these spots, because they were awesome locations.
So yes, please bring it back :biggrin.gif:
I alway's lived on a beach.
> I used MCNostalgia to go back to 1.7 now
Also, I wanted to share something I found while browsing through the Mods section on the forums. It's a terrain generator mod, not unlike many others you guys may have seen, but this is the only one in my knowledge that adds some semblance of beach generation back in. It also appears to modify the underwater bedding to look like it was prior to 1.8.
I'll be adding the thread link to the OP just in case anybody would like to try it. Find it here: http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/847226-10-biome-mod-v1/
So what do you think of the rest of the terrain?
Oh, are you asking if you could use one of the banners I've included in the OP in your signature? If you'd like, then you're more than welcome to do so. Of course, if you want to use another banner or use one for your own neat thread, I have no problem with that either.
Umm, my opinion on the rest of the terrain. Nothing comes to mind to prove to me that it is any better than the previous terrain generator. At the very least, I am neutral on features like biome size and swamps (when not involving the terrible transitions). But I do think it was a bit rushed, like many other 1.8/1.9 features, to solve some problems involving the generation with villages and things like that.
But, in any case, my largest issues with it are the beaches and the underwater geology. It is simply horrendous in my opinion and no less an important issue than is lack of topographical variation and biome transitioning.
EDIT: Apparently you did add the banner to your sig, so that's fine. I really like that one line below it.
