Well, alot of people want more ores in the game. And alot of people want new Nether content. So how about, Nether ores?
Nethronite Nethronite would be made specifically for armor. It would give you 25% resistance to fire and lava for each armor piece, so if you were wearing it on all 4 parts of your body, you would be completely resistant. Unfortunately, it only has the protection of leather armor.
Soul Stone Soul Stone would be an ore that you could make swords and arrows out of. On swords, the crafting recipe would be just like any other swords. But with arrows, you could replace the flint. When you hit something with the sword or arrow, it takes damage and walks as if its on Soul Sand for a few moments.
I would hope there is more, but this is all i could think of.
My nether ore suggestion: Incinerack. Very rare, requires a gold pickaxe to mine, and must be placed and then hit with 16 snowballs to be purified. Makes better-than-diamond tools.

Diamond is already powerful enough. We have all the ores we need for just everyday use like iron and diamond. Im talking about ores with special uses like redstone and lapis! Not just something completely generic.

I said that it is good for tools, not weapons or armor. And the method of obtaining it is very unique.

While I like the idea in principle, I dislike the propositions made.
The effect of the ores can be made through weapon enchantments, therefore let's not create stackable/replication of abilities.
Instead I might suggest;
Shaddowstone
Like glowstone, but with the opposite effect creating darkness around the block. Mined with Iron or better, dropping Shaddowstone dust, which must be crafted back into blocks.
Emberstone
Naturally it has a chance to spawn/spread fire. When mined it yields Ember Dust. If combined (on top of a furness) creates a firegrid which is a redstone toggleable fireblock. For use in traps, fireplaces etc. fairly rare.
Additional: Ember dust can be used like once use flint and tinder (for when you get stuck in the Nether (don't run out of iron!)
Can be combined with TNT to create a 'fire bomb' that creates fire as well as an explosion.
Can be added as a potion ingrediate (splash) to create fires
6 in a trapdoor shape creates a 'fire brick' that has a 'burnability' in the furnace something less than lava, but more than coal.
Ruby / Emeralds
Gemstone, weapons armour can be made from them, they mine with Wood effectiveness, but diamond (or a bit less than diamond I would prefer) durability.
Additional:
If combined with a torch can create red or green light (lapis would create blue light?)
If crafted into blocks, the blocks have the 'slip' effect like ice, but otherwise like normal precious storage blocks

thought of this a while ago, but it's crafted not found naturally
I do not really agree with these, considering that enchanting can do most of this. What I would like to see is perhaps a better version of coal, that burns faster or more. I would say no ores or something original.

Good post. :wink.gif:
Exactly! People want more stuff to do in the nether, and more ores. But each ore should have special uses so its not so boring.
Diamond is already powerful enough. We have all the ores we need for just everyday use like iron and diamond. Im talking about ores with special uses like redstone and lapis! Not just something completely generic.
