Leather is such a bad armour, but its better than nothing, and it should be very easy to find when you're starting out. Like, really easy to find. Please make cows drop 5-10 leather -- its the worst tier armour, it shouldn't be easier to get iron armour than leather armour, and you would of course need leather for name tags and other things. :wink.gif:
2. Improve pig riding
I know pig riding is silly, but I've been thinking about it. Players fit perfectly on pigs, and if you think of minecraftian physics and anatomy, a minecraft player on a minecraft horse would just look really silly. Why not make pigs controllable? They'll go at the same speed that you sprint at, but they will not let you ride them in water. You will be able to use a sword and/or bow while riding a pig, but without hurting it (and with this update, you'll be able to use weapons in boats without breaking your boat as well.) You'll be able to jump with them, and you can feed them with brown mushrooms. They will squeal when they are hurt, but they will not follow you anywhere, so you will need to construct pig stables and guide them in with wheat (or ride them in.) :tongue.gif:
3. Name tags
We should be able to craft name tags from 1 leather and 1 paper -- one crafting of this will give you 4 tags. They should be attachable to any friendly MOB, and then you can type their name. You will not be able to see the tag on the animal, but their name will float above them, similiar to player names. This way, you can keep track of which animal is which. This would be great for wolves and tamed pigs, and especially good for breeding, because if I am to make sure I do not produce incest, I want to keep track of who's who.
4. Incest
If you make an incestual breeding, the baby should look derpy, having its eyes looking in funny directions, and it should constantly bump into walls and drop nothing when killed as an adult. I think this would be kind of funny, but also, it would teach you to make sure that you keep track of what animals you're breeding. :tongue.gif:
5. Grapes
There should be grapes added to the game. They will grow like sugar cane, but if eaten raw, they will not heal your food level. If you craft grapes with glass bottles, the same used for potions, you can make a bottle of grape juice that can be drunken for 2 food levels and replenished with only 1 grape, so this would be excellent for when you're in the mines and need food.
6. Apples
Apples should fall from leaf blocks. They'll only heal 1 food level, but they will be EXTREMELY useful, because then you won't starve to death all the time in multiplayer. As a nerf, the only way to get apples will be to break a leaf block with a basket, and even when doing this, apples will only come down with a 1/8 chance.
7. Sheep and squids should drop food
They should. How many times have you been in a place with nothing but sheep and squids, but no food? Also, squids should spawn like other MOBs, and you should be able to breed them using raw fish. This will also prevent starvation in multiplayer.
8. Giving pigs another use
If you combine shears and a porkchop onto a crafting grid, you will get 3 strips of bacon, which can be cooked. The shears will not be used up when crafting like this, and it will be an excellent way to increase food and also make pigs more useful. However though, bacon will only heal 2/3 of what a porkchop can.
This is one of greatest suggestions post that did not hate current features ever. Congratulations good sir, you deserve these features to be added. Yah I would love to ride a pig like that!
Aww, why not? I just think that leather should be easier to get-- half the cows I kill don't give a single leather, and its way easier to mine iron than find and kill cows, especially because they don't respawn unless you breed them. :sad.gif: So its kind of stupid, don'tcha think?
Derp pigs- pigs don't look derp enough with those eyes?
No, they don't. :tongue.gif: Both eyes should be looking in completely different directions.
These are the first somewhat decent suggestions I've seen. Some of them while funny (incest) don't really make for compelling gameplay. However name tags and leather armor suggestions are decent.

If you think about it, Notch has added things that don't make for compelling gameplay, like spider eyes and villagers with bad AI, but thank you for your input. :smile.gif:

Incest-wait, what?
Controllable pigs-
I'm liking your ideas, but the ones I listed could be edited.

LOL
I just looove the feel of miserable swine underneath me as I ride off cliffs.
