Mojang has basically acheived full gameness, anything else they would need would be fix on bugs and smp, and keep working towards exploration it's the only reason *I* *ME* *MYSELF* still play, anyways minecraft has a great community with *mostly* nice people and texture packs, mods, and custom worlds have been >>1<< of the biggest pushes of minecraft. I know other may have suggested this, but i haven't seen it (if you do can you direct me so i can support?)
my thought was that mojang spent sometime deciding and using votes to receive the top 10 Mods, Texture packs, and custom maps, and leaving them as options on minecraft to use. Perhaps every week new ones can take those spots and stuff like that.
I don't really see any problem with this idea unless your going to call me lazy for not searching up the best textures or whatever, i don't care some/most people want these things but don't care enough to go install them and get bored more easily of this beautiful game *minecraft*.
Where would they put the links...? But even if they did find a spot, would you like to go talk to 30-50 different people every week to ask them for permission to use it? Plus, most would probably take pay for their stuff. Mojang would be losing more money than gaining it.

I think what he means is people could enter their mods/texture packs to be on minecraft.net

mojang would not need permission to use them, actually. and they most certainly wont be paying people. look at the pistons mod. it got integrated in the game without paying the original maker

Optifine is awesome!
Now, when can Notch start using 3D instead of linear chunks for minecraft? It would massively improve performance, and increase height limits by hundreds of times. There are mods out there that do that already.

Exactly what i was thinking besides the mods couldnt exist without the game Pistons, Potion craft, and few other mods were added to minecraft without anything but this way it's not even added it's free advertisment for the mod or texture pack.
Do you mean something similar to the toybox option in Garry's mod? If so then yes I would very much like that.
I kind of think i know what you mean i have played garrysmod once a month ago. but i dont think it's too simular too that however it has the same kind of "feel"

No i mean on the minecraft screen, to the side of mods/texture packs They could have like a scroll that allows them to download the best of each.
