Hey guys! You guys know I post a lot of ideas about new worlds or mobs. But lately I posted one about the Spirit Realm and I have to agree with a lot of you. The Nether and Overwold should be improved and I got a few Ideas. Let's start with the Nether!
Okay, so even in the 1.0.0 Update, the Nether is still pretty boring. The Nether with its new mobs and stuff is still not as fun. Finding Nether Ruins is very time consuming, so I thought of a few ideas for each realm. ALSO, remember I ALWAYS list the crafting recipes LAST.
The Nether:
Ores: Bloodstone, Ragestone, Painstone, Fearstone, and Doomstone. (These names symbolize what you'd imagine you'd see if you actually went to Hell...)
Bloodstone generates as much as Iron does. Bloodstone spawns in groups of 4 - 8 and can be mined with Iron Picks and Diamonds Picks. It's used for making Tools and Potions.
Ragestone generates as often as Iron does. Ragestone spawns in groups of 4 -8 and can be mined with Bloodstone Picks and Diamond Picks. It's used for making armor and weapons.
Painstone generates as often as Iron does. Ragestone Spawns in groups of 4 - 8 and can be mined with Bloodstone Picks and Diamond Picks. It's used for making potions and enchants.
Fearstone generates as often as redstone does. Fearstone spawns in groups of 4 - 8 and can be mined with Bloodstone Picks and Diamond Picks. It's used for making Potions and enchants.
Doomstone generates as often as diamond does. Doomstone spawns in groups of 1 - 8 and can be mined with Bloodstone Picks and Diamond Picks. It's used for creating armor, creating weapons, and enchants.
Mobs: Pigmen, Necrolords, Necromancers, Demons, Doom Guards, Tunnelers, and the Harbinger of Destruction.
Necrolords are mini boss mobs that spawn inside Nether Citadels. I will get to structures in a minute. They have 15 hearts, and wear leather armor which is not visible. They Do 3 hearts of damage and have ranged attacks. They have 15 block sight radius and can spawn a 3 Zombies every 10 seconds. They take 1 heart extra damage from Nether Weapons. They drop Necrostaffs and Corrupted hearts. They are 3 blocks tall.
Necromancers are mobs that spawn within Nether Citadels. They have 10 hearts and do 1.5 hearts of damage and have ranged attacks. They take 1 heart extra damage from Nether Weapons and have a 10 sight block radius. They have a Zombie accompanying them but they will only spawn another zombie 15 seconds after he is killed. They are 2 blocks tall. They drop cursed skulls.
Demons are mobs that spawns randomly throughout the Nether in Demon Tower which is a 14 block tall tower made of Nether Brick, AKA, Nether Brick Watch towers... They have 10 hearts and do 3 hearts of damage while taking 1 heart extra damage from Nether Weapons. They are seen carrying Ragestone Swords. In the Tower there are 4 levels, and there are 2 Demons on each floor. The top of the tower has 1 Doom Guard. They have a 15 sight block radius. They Drop Demon Soul stones.
Doom Guards are mobs that spawn on top Demons Towers, They are 3 Blocks tall and have small wings. They have 15 hearts and wear invisible leather armor. They are both melee and ranged. They do 3 hearts of melee damage and 5 hearts of ranged damage. If you are more than 10 blocks away, they do go ranged. Once you are 10 blocks near them, they start approaching you for melee damage. They have a 20 sight Block Radius. They drop Doom Guard Wings and Doom Guard blood.
Tunnelers are beasts that are actually passive. They can't move and function like the plants in the Aether Mod. Those plants that shoot arrows at you. Except. Tunnelers are spawned within walls and are 15 blocks in lengths, and are 4x4 blocks wide. They can't move and when you attack them, they throw up 2 Demons every 10 seconds. They have 30 hearts. You can run inside of them and attack their behind which kills them 2x faster. They drop Tunnelers Stomachs, Tunneler Glands, and Tunneler Teeth.
Harbinger of Destruction is a mob that is spawned when you use an "Orb of Doom" which i will get to when I talk about Structures. He is huge with 50 hearts. He does 10 hearts of damage at melee, and is beast fought with ranged. He also has a ranged attack doing 5 hearts of damage, and takes 5 hearts extra damage from Holy Orbs. HE has a 64 sight block radius and is wearing iron armor which is invisible. Due to his large size, you both are teleported to a giant room in the nether made of Bedrock, Nether Bricks, and Red wool. This room is 200 blocks long and wide. ITs a giant square. When you die/ defeat him, you are teleported near your portal to the Overworld. He drops Heart of Harbinger.
Pigmen are found in groups of 10 - 20, one behind another in a line with iron shackles on them. They have 10 hearts and do no damage while chained. They are guarded by a demon every 4 Pigmen, and a Doom Guard in the front and back of the Slave Caravan.
STRUCTURES:
Nether Citadels are large Octogonal Shaped Citadels. They contain things like Strongholds, a Library. In the center is a giant tower where the Necrolord is. There are a Necromancers scattered throughout the Citadel. It also holds 2 Doom Guards which are guarding the front gate.
Demon Towers are tall towers with 4 Stories. There are 2 Demons in each layer, but in the 4th there is a Doom Guard. In each room there is a a Brewing Stand and a chest. These chests contain Iron, Blaze Rods, Magma Cream, and Blaze Powder.
Slava Caravans are not exactly structures. When you see a slave Caravan, it is headed toward a Nether Citadel. When they reach the Nether Citadel, they Necromancers kil them 1 by 1 and turn them into Zombie Pigmen. If you kill all the Demons and Doom Guards they break free and one of them drops a "Glyph of Thanks"
CRAFTING RECIPES FOR THE NETHER:
Bloodstone can be smelted into Bloodstone Ingots. These can be used to create a Bloodstone Furnace which uses Netherrack to burn. Because there is so much Netherrack in the Nether, 4 Netherrack to smelt a single Ingot of Doomstone, Fearstone, Ragestone, and Painstone. Bloodstone is the ONLY Nether Ore that can be smelted with OVERWORLD materials. Bloodstone is also used to create a Bloodstone Forge. Forges are used to break melt and combine Nether Ores. Bloodstone is also used to make a Bloodstone Pick, and a Bloodstone shovel. The Potions you are able to craft with Bloodstone are: Bleed-out Potion (Splash) , Blood-lust Potion (Both Splash and Drinkable) , and Blood-boil Potion (Splash). When a Bleed-out Potion is tossed, it acts like poison. It bleed out 1 heart every second for 12 seconds, which is 6 hearts total. They CAN kill you, and you get healed by eating food while bleeding. A Blood-Lust Potion will cause you to do 2 hearts extra damage to all mobs, but take 1 heart extra damage. When tossed to a mob, it will Move 50% faster, and attack its nearest target, excluding you. A Blood-Boil potion is very deadly. When tossed, it does 1 heart of damage every second for 5 seconds, and also does half a heart of damage every second of 6 seconds to all mobs in a 5 block radius.
Ragestone is smelted into Ragestone Ingots. These can be used to create Ragestone armor and Ragestone Weapons. The armor crafted is a strong as iron, but reduces damage taken by 2 hearts from all Nether Spawned mobs. It also creates Ragestone Sword which does 3 hearts of damage and + 1 to all those mobs who take an extra + 1 from it. You can make Ragestone Spears which can be tossed 15 blocks dealing 2 Hearts of Damage and + 1 to all those who take an extra + 1 from it. You can make Ragestone Arrows, when you put the Ragestone Ingot on the top of the Arrow crafting recipe, instead of the flint you up Ragestone. You get 8 Ragestone arrows. Ragestone arrows set mobs on fire.
Painstone is used to create potions and Enchants. You turn Painstone into Painstone Ingots, or combine it with Magma Cream for Painstone Cream which is used for potions. You can create Potion of Pain which when tossed, does 1 heart of damage every second for 3 seconds, and reduces the targets move speed by 50% You can also make Potion of Severe Pain. When this is tossed, it does an automatic 5 hearts of damage. Enchants are Enchant of Pain, Enchant of Crippling Pain, and Enchant of Fatal Pain. When you hit someone with a sword Enchanted with Enchant of Pain, it bleeds them out for half a heart every second of 6 seconds. When Crippling Pain is enchanted on your weapon, it does half a heart of damage every second for 6 seconds while slowing them by 25%. When you used Enchant of Fatal Pain, it does half a heart of damage every second for 10 seconds, and has a chance to kill their target completely when the the 10 seconds is gone. If the target's armor is still 25% strong, the Instant kill does not happen. Only at 25% below broken armor.
Fearstone is used for potions and Enchants. You turn Fearstone into Fearstone Ingots, or combine it with Blazepowder to create Fearstone Dust. This can be used to create Potion of Fear, Enchant of Fear or Enchant of Anxiety. When a Potion of Ear is tossed, the target will run away from you for 10 seconds. When you strike something and your blade is Enchanted with Fear, the mob is frightened and intimated by you, causing a 25% chance to cause them to run away, they also attack 25% slower. When you hit a mob and your weapon is Enchanted with Anxiety, the mob will become worried that it might not kill you, causing it to forget to swing 25% of the time.
Doomstone is used for Armor, Weapons, and Enchants. When you get a Doomstone Ingot, it can be put in the crafting Table with Ragestone Armor to create Destruction Armor which is 50% stronger to diamond, allows you to swim in Lava, and reduces the damage taken from mobs in the Nether by 1 heart while increasing Damage done by 1 heart to mobs in the Nether. You can also create Doomstone Sword, which does 3 Hearts of Damage, Sets mobs on fire, and knocks them back an extra 1 block. You can also Enchant your blade with Doom, which has a 25% chance of letting a demon spawn from the mob and follow you around for 1 minute if you kill that mob.
Token of Thanks is like food. When eaten, you are 25% faster and take 1 heart less of damage.
Bloodstone Forges combine Nether minerals. Putting in in Bloodstone Ore and Ragestone Ore gets you a Bloodlust Ingot. ( I will list Recipes after im finished with the Ingot types.)
Bloodstone and Painstone gets you an Exsanguination Ingot. (Bleeding out in a Fatal Manner.) Bloodstone and Fearstone creates a Hemophobia Ingot. (The fear of blood.) Bloodstone and Doomstone creates 4 Deathstone Ingots. Combining Ragestone and Painstone creates a Berserker Ingot.
Bloodlust Ingots can create armor and weapons. Bloodlust armor is 25% weaker than Iron, but when attacked, the Target takes 1 heart of damage back. Bloodlust armor also allows you to go into a Blood Rage if you have 2 hearts left. This causes you to regenerate 1 heart every second for 3 seconds, and lets you move 25% faster and do 1 heart extra damage to all mobs. A Bloodlust blade does 3 hearts of damage, and has a 25% chance on each hit to cause the mob go into Bloodlust, causing them to attack something else nearby for 10 seconds.
Exsanguination Ingot is used create Armor, weapons, and Enchants. This creates Blood Scarred armor. This armor is as strong as iron and regenerates half a heart every second that you are not in combat. It also has a 25% chance to take 1 heart from the enemy and use it to heal you for 1 heart. Blade of Exsanguination does 2 Hearts of damage, but will cause the target to lose 1 heart every second until they die. To cure this eat food. The two enchants are Vampire Blade and Bleed Out Blade. The enchant Vampire Blade has a 25% chance to take an deal an extra 1 heart of damage to the target and use that heart to heal you for 1 heart. A Bleed Out Blade is a great Enchantment. This has a 25% chance per strike to cause 2 hearts to be lost every second for 3 seconds.
Hemophobia Ingots are used to create Armor, Weapons, and Enchants. Blood Stained Armor causes mobs that see you to have a 25% chance of running away. Using Hemophobia Ingots instead of flint to create arrows, makes 16 Bloody Arrows. These are useful because when shot, it leaves behind a red glowing line of Blood to help indicate where your arrow landed. The Enchant is Blood Caked Blade. This causes the Blade to do 2 extra hearts of damage and makes mobs scared to fight you, causing them to stall for 2 seconds before attacking you.
Deathstone Ingots are used to make Armor, Weapons, and Enchants. Death Touched Armor is as strong as old Diamond before the 1.0.0 update. When you die and you wear a fullset of this armor, you become resurrected 5 seconds after you died, and you dont lose your stuff unless it's on a cool down. This resurrection timer is 5 minutes. This armor also allows you to resist fire damage, drown damage, and fall damage. A Death Forged Blade does 5 hearts of damage and has a 10% chance to instantly kill your target. If they are wearing armor, it does not work. An Enchant of Death causes mobs you killed to resurrect and follow you around for 1 minute. This does not work on players.
Berserker Ingots can be used to create Armor. Berserker Armor allows you to go Berserk for 1 minute if you have 2 hearts left. Going Berserk lets you move 50% faster, take 1 heart less damage, and do 2 hearts extra damage.
That is it for the Nether!

pretty cool stuff though
I been thinking about starting a campaign thread for improving the nether for a while, once I get some support behind it, maybe you could help with some ideas?

thanks bro, first step to making this thread is making some connections, we're gonna need artists, modders, a lot of people to get on board before we even get close to starting the thread though.

Corrupted Hearts are used for making Potion of Corruption. This causes the mob that this is thrown at to get Cancer. Mobs with Cancer take 2 hearts of extra damage.

I been thinking about starting a campaign thread for improving the nether for a while, once I get some support behind it, maybe you could help with some ideas?
Sure thing. Got a skype? Ask for any assistance and I'll help you.
thanks bro, first step to making this thread is making some connections, we're gonna need artists, modders, a lot of people to get on board before we even get close to starting the thread though.
