Hello. This is an idea I had for minecraft that uses electricity. When thunderstorms occur, you get electric bolts which are used for various things.
Code of items: =thunderbolts =glass pane =stone chest/protected chest =leather =insulated bolt
First thing you need is the thunder gloves. It protects you from getting damaged by holding electric bolts that are not insulated.
Thunder gloves will act as a chestplate.
Next thing you do is make the stone/protected chest. It is simply smooth stone around a chest.
The thunder collector, which gets the lightning, is this
You need to place this on the roof of your house or else the lightning can't be collected. You're probably thinking, "What is lightning bolts used for?", well first, we need to insulate it, after that you can freely hold it around.
With the insulated lightning, you can use it for 3 things. The first use is a substitute for redstone. It goes 30 blocks instead of only 15. The second use is the fact you can use it as fuel in a...
Electric furnace!
It is twice as fast as a normal furnace. The last use is light bulbs!
This will give you 3 light bulbs. A light bulb is brighter and goes further than a torch, the downside is, it will lose it's charge after a while. So you make the Bulb Charger.
All you do is go up to a bulb and right click it. Well that is all I have to say about my idea for electricity in minecraft.

It's a very neat and well thought out idea, but I feel iffy about the concept of collecting thunder. There are various ways of generating electricity and, while it's a quirky/unique game with impossible things - collecting thunder seems overkill and strange.
Nevertheless, it could still work. You'd have to wait for rain though...
Good idea.... I've had the same problem with my Jungle dimension thread which got shut down :sad.gif: anyways I quite like the idea of collecting electricity and using it as a redstone subsitute I like all the other ideas here too its just that stupid noobs come along and wreck the ideas...
Also the stupid noobs haven't come along yet to 'wreck' the idea
*Creates a turbine from two magnets and a fan*
*places turbine at bottom of cliff*
*Places water at top of cliff*
*force of water turns the head of the turbine and causes the two magnets to spin causing electricity*
OR, we can wait for lightning to strike... That works too.
This seems pretty complicated to build just to get slightly upgraded versions of existing items. Also, there's a pretty low chance that lightning would actually strike on that single block.

maybe you can have a metal tower that collects elecricity and then u get batteries from that.
But this is minecraft.
Tell me, are creepers real? Nope. So it doesnt matter whether it's real or not.
i know that but it just doesnt feel minecraftish :tongue.gif:
