Main Idea: Golden chickens would make breeding essential for obtaining better arrows. They would also be the only breedable mob that the Player must have first spawned themselves.
I am making a short animated video about this suggestion that y'all can support on the you tubes. When it's done, a link will be posted here. Be sure to check back around January, as that is when I plan to be completed. often.
How it works:
These probably won't change
These could change
There would be a 3/5 chance to find a Golden Egg in Dungeons chests, 4/5 in Stronghold chests.
Once you obtain an egg, it has a 1/4 chance of hatching a Golden Chick when thrown on the ground, because of their rarity.
In order to get another Golden Chicken easily, you would have to breed it with a Normal Chicken.
There would be a 50/50 chance of Normal or Golden Chicken, similar to breeding Mooshrooms and Cows.
Once it's full grown, it will lay an egg every 30 minutes - 1 hour while alive, making the eggs very rare.
It would be smart to continue breeding these chickens.
Instead of dropping normal Feathers they would drop Golden Feathers.
It would also drop Raw Chicken, like Normal Chicken.
The new feathers can be crafted with Flint and a Blaze Rod Bone to make Great Arrows.
These arrows to 2x1.5x1.2x as much damage as normal arrows and 2x knockback.
Since they require quite a bit of work, they would also be obtainable as loot in dungeons only, with a max of 15 per loot chest.
Great Arrows would not only make the Enderdragon a bit easier to defeat, but they would make archery a better form of attack in SMP.
Other Ideas
A stronger variation of Skeleton that shoots only Great Arrows.
Lore: Golden Chickens are an extinct species of Chicken that were around back in the day when the Strongholds/Dungeons were constructed.
Feed a Golden Chicken seeds, and it may just become your pet. This would be very lulzy, as it would do nothing when you were attacked by an enemy.
It's a great idea, but I could only see people really wanting them in large quantities. Mainly so they can use them anytime they want just like regular arrows.
Arrows that make things catch fire would kinda be overpowered. I was thinking the material of a rod is stronger than that of a wooden stick.
DOT's are rarely considered overpowered but how about regular damage and the fire damage adds the extra 5 damage. Like 5 from the physical and 5 over time?

Actually... I did a little research, I didn't know Skeles/Creepers had as much health as players. I don't really like DOT, lol. But 1.5x the damage of normal arrows would be good, don't need snipers taking me out in one hit.

If you made the shaft out of a different material I would agree with the more damage and no DOT. I just feel if it's a blaze rod it should catch you on fire. There's bonuses and downsides with the fire arrow though. A higher damage arrow would be slightly op because people would stack them and do tons of instant damage. Since you do work for it it's not op but I'm just saying if a person shot a fire arrow you could jump in water so it would make it tactical. There's a good chance the fire arrow would do more damage then the regular arrow and it wouldn't be extra instant damage that owns everyone.

A bone is stronger than a stick... I guess a bone would work better than a blaze rod, since a bone is stronger than a stick but doesnt have an elemental effect like a blaze rod.
Message me yours if you want to trade in Animal Crossing: New Leaf or just need some friends to play with. I can also do Pokemon trades in Pokemon X(or Y), but I don't have any good stuff, and the only good stuff I have is not for trade so...send me requests anyway.

I got this idea from the golden chicken picture on the Wondercraft poster.
Please, feel free to suggest any ideas you have.
I like it though, pretty good.

Bump.
Ehhhh... I don't know. Endermen are only supposed to be able to be hurt by melee.
I never played the sims lol. Watermelons are a vanilla item only obtainable in abandoned mines and such, so... why not golden eggs?
