Minecraft is becoming too dark...
It started nice, bright, colorful.
Then it got darker with night time.
Then we had the nether, a hell world.
Then the biomes made trees less brilliant.
Then we got The End, a dark, terrifying place.
And now we have dark gloomy swamps, that are just... sad. :sad.gif:
Bring back a little brightness Mojang! Make Minecraft Bright AND Dark.

We are well aware of the transitional fix, but it is still the only biome hard coded in
yes, and the transition fixed this entire problem,do you guys think that mojang will check this, cause mojang doesn't even control these forums, they just sponsor, so you guys are waiting your time, I mean what more do you want, trees are being fixed, just be patient and wait a week for the snapshot ig you really care SO much about the trees<_<
there working on it, so why can't you all be patient and STOP CRYING about somethings thats FIXED RIGHT NOW!!!!!
can an admin lock this topic, cause honestly this is ridiculous!
I have never heard anything from Mojang saying they were working on this. We started this with 1.0, and didn't hear they were fixing transitions until the release of the snapshot. Now that it's released, and still hard-coded, still no word on if they are going to change that. Please, do not post asking for this thread to be locked, as we try to be nothing but professional.
we don't want to change the sky color, the red of redstone, or the size of Steve's head. We want to change swamp biome transitions. Why? because you can edit every other biome but NOT SWAMPS. You are entitled to all of your opinions but we have illegitimate claims for this suggestion. That is the only thing we want, and we ask that you respect that.
so there
the swamp biome is new, as was the end, and brewing, and did you see how manyn pre-releases they had before they finnalybgot it right? Just wait , Jesus CHRIST!

Have you seen how busy they are? They don't have time to go investigate the forums and see this but they will fix it SOON there wasn't anything really said this week, alot of just secret news
If you believe it's useless and stupid for us to post here, fine. We'll waste our time, nothing will change, and we'll drift off into obscurity. If you don't want to hear about it, unfollow the thread and just ignore us. Our petition isn't doing you any harm. If you support us, keep posting here in case Mojang does listen; if you don't, just ignore us and trust that they won't. You don't have to keep bitching at us for posting suggestions in a suggestion forum.
You realize I was ridiculing you for your poor choice of words, right? Not the fact that you are too impatient for a fix that Jens and Jon may have already done in the next snapshot.
meh, i guess i agree with the water being ugly when generated next to regular water, and i think they should make the transition smoother with the grass getting progressively darker leading to the biome. signed! when i first saw a 1.9 swamp i was thinking EGADS!!!!!

THANKYOU, finally someone else who understands, and to the other guy

P.S. Ivyn its Jeb not Jens, same pronunciation, different spelling ;-)

Ok, I am terribly sorry to offend you. What I meant to say was, "Swamps are the only biome that's color is hard-coded." I am terribly sorry if omitting one word caused you to think of me ass a "dumb ass". I always try my very best to impress every single person on the internet.

We saw a change to a game that often advertises how open they are with it's community, and thought of a way we would like to improve. They have listened to members of the community before, and we hoped it could happen again, especially concerning something that really upset us, and we did post on get satisfaction, also a link to Jens' twitter. Please read all of the OP next.

Remember that there will always be people who either agree or disagree with you no matter what. I happen to completely disagree with you. I for one actually MISS the rough transitions, as it helped me remember the old days before smooth lighting and biomes existed.

Ok, thank you for stating your opinion in a calm, logical way. Maybe next time, we can get straight to this and skip all of the arguments. I feel like it would make it more time efficient.
Also, the texturepack part is not really going to happen :\
people said smooth transitions wouldn't happen. Who knows.
One thing though. I go for daily walks around a nearby lake(called "the lake", no joke!) and it is an example of transitions of grass. There are places where the transition is smoother, and other areas where the shade instantly changes(like from green grass to dark green, and from green to a dead color)
What I am saying is that grass in real life doesn't always have a smooth color transition, but can in fact be sudden. This is just to all the people who were complaining that grass IRL doesn't abruptly change color.

Mojang added it because people were already doing it, so they decided to remove a step(modding the jar) so people don't **** up on the installation.
You didn't just say that, did you? Biomes are hard-coded, dumbass. Unless you mean the color, in which case it's the foliage hue.
Residential veteran
The swamp color is not on the foliage.png. That's what this has been about the entire time.
