As much as I'd like to see prettier swamps, I just don't see how there could be a smooth transition. There's no middle-ground between swamps and grass, like how there's sand between ocean and land (for the most part anyway :tongue.gif:)
Agreed, the transition is just plain god-awfull. As to the shading of the biome itself, I believe it should remain as it is, but changable by texturepacks, as it is a matter of taste.
Yeah, swamp are hideous as far as the borders between biomes go.
To be honest I feel biomes need a ton more development...otherwise why would there even be biomes? There isn't that much of a difference between them, especially when it comes to mob spawning.

Include a poll so that rather than going through the list of people supporting they can just look at the poll and count how many support and how many don't. By the way if I am correct than 924 people have signed the petition.

The transitions between these biomes stunk, and there is no realism in location of these biomes in relation to one another. They should definitely fix the biomes
I dont like them very much. I LIKE the biome, just not the colors. Could be a dark green, but not purple.
also seem to be popping up too much. they need to be less common than they are.

I went flying around in creative mode, and most biome to biome transitions are smooth. The only exceptions are when one or more is one of the following:
swamp
desert
snow
mushroom island
ocean
The desert and ocean biomes have why the border is rough obvious. The mushroom island's mycelium makes it obvious, and part mycelium, part grass doesn't make sense. Snow biomes are obvious because of the snow. That only leaves swamps, which stick out due to the horrible overlay on the grass. The overlay for each biome's grass and watershould be editable with a texture pack. The overlay should also blend in for every biome-to-biome grass or water.

Why does everyone think I don't have an avatar? Is there anyone who can see the one black pixel.
Please click the dragons, they need to grow. Also, my fully grown dragons can be found in my bio.

The grass and water just need to fade to the correct color instead of having a color border. This is really one of the easier transitions.
I don't think that's actually necessary for swamps. It's going from grass to grass so a gradient shouldn't be a problem. That is a good idea for grass to sand, however.

While I do like the way swamps look in terms of pallet, I hate the borders. I will under no circumstances build near the border of a swamp.

Much agree'd with this!

The swamps could dip down a bit, like this:
N: Normal land S: Swamp
NNNNNN
NNNNNNNN
NNNNNNNNSSSSSSS
All because of the hard-coded color...
also seem to be popping up too much. they need to be less common than they are.
