I have a great proposal! Make a 3rd kind of tree, with swampy foliage (the color of trees in swamps) and bark that looks like it has air roots on it with saplings that can go in the water. Another great idea is to start using biome water color. If biome precipitation vs temperature becomes square instead of a right triangle or curved one, then swamps could become high precipitation, medium temperature so if rainforests are added back in, grass color transitions won't be messed up (unless you go from tropical rainforest to temperate rainforest via swamp). If birch or oak trees are grown in a swamp, they would get a swamp tint but not as extreme and with it being a biome color, there would be no multicolor trees.
have you EVER walked into a real life swamp and said "wow this is pretty amazing, this is a really beautiful place"?
Have I walked into a swamp? Well no, but from what I have seen (via pictures and TV) they do actually look beautiful. Minecraft swamps looks like a cheep way to try to make them look like swamps out of scooby-doo.
Someone on the Minecraft forums is suggesting something... Using complete, coherent thoughts? And politely? This is heresy!
But on a slightly more serious note, I completely agree. Didn't a member of Mojang even say during the 1.9 pre-releases that this would be fixed? It is so ugly right now...
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
In response to a thread for a seed called "Tony Romo"
I decided to make a home near a mountain biome and a swamp happened to be where I put it. I made bushes around the front yard(made of clipped leaves) and the dark grass doesn't let it stand out. Everything is so dark, I wish there was some way to spread the kind of grass you want.
People are only asking for the removal the swamp textures from being hard coded into the game so that people can texture pack swamps to their liking, just in case people like you want to keep the old texture.
If you can't think of anything else they should fix, then it's only logical that they work on the aesthetics of the game. What's wrong with making the game more polished with a better mod interface, especially when texture packs play such a huge role in the modding community?
Changing the swamps from being hard coded doesn't affect the way you see or play your game if you use the default texture pack, so why are you so resistant to this petition?
i hate the swamps. im searching for an nice spot for my mod tale of kingdom made by tyberalyx(credits to her)

(Edited so it's only "1 line..." Stupid sig limits...)
But yeah, I don't really like seeing those things in Minecraft. What am I supposed to build there anyways? What does it offer me?

I sort of like it :/
I agree but I still don't agree on this
