It's not like they are supposed to be beautiful.
They are supposed to be damp, and dirty and dark.
We aren't questioning that.
1. We want the transitions fixed. THAT is the ugly part.
2. We don't want the hardcoded purple overlay. Have you seen the pictures of purple swamps because texture packs can't control that? Read this thread and come back if you haven't.
I agree completely. I was making a big city on top of a swamp biome (During v1.8) because it was a nice, flat place to build. Now the grass is nearly black, and the water is completely green. What a way to ruin that part of the game. If anything, to meet everyone's needs, we should be able to place different kinds of grass from different biome regions anywhere we want. Also, it is way too abrupt, walking through the swamp and then all of a sudden seeing a nice patch of green grass and flowers.

They are supposed to be damp, and dirty and dark. And have background frog and cicada noises.
Oh, and sometimes grumpy old men with a shotgun.
Yeah. Definitely.
What swamps need is having sometimes a cottage with a hostile NPC that attacks you with a bow.
Oh! And alligators! Yep. Swamps definitely need alligators.
Apparently you have never been in a swamp. Swamps are beautiful places filled with wildlife and plants. Yes it may look ugly on sight, but when you pay attention and actually look deeper into what is going on, it is quite pretty. Swamps are stereotyped to be foul, ugly places covered in mud and ridden with insects. Only thing is, if you go into a swamp, you better know your **** or your gonna get dirty. :happy.gif:
Swamps are ugly in general, idc what color it is. The terrain looks neat Imo. I do agree with the OP with the transitions between biomes. Gradient shading would come in handy there.

Yes. I think the swamp color is perfect, but the transition is terrible...

Both used in the wrong hands can be deadly.
No doubt about it
I have to have a perfect area to place a house or structure
and I go by these strict rules:
- Needs room (no forest biomes or anything related)
- Needs to be pretty (No swamps or anything related)
- No random flying blocks (Mostly seen at mountain areas)
