i see people suggest mobs, craftables and the like but what happens with the environment?...
we have like 3 forest biomes and 1 grass biome with a desert and a tundra, also the mushroom islands...
but i think the game would be more cool for exploration if there where more biomes, i have some examples:
-Wasteland: it preceeds deserts, its made of special dirt blocks which cannot produce grass, there's almost no trees in the landscape except for some dead ones. maybe there would be special trees like a the Aloe tree, which can be used to get natural medicines, so you dont need to drink milk to avoid poisoning or other ailments.
-Jungle: unlike forest, Jungles have a less flattier landscape, there grow trees different to the ones you find in the other biomes, such as Palm Trees, Cacao Trees, climbable vines which grow in really massive trees maybe like some baobabs, the trees would be really tall and would have the leaves at the top creating a some sort of roof, the floor would be dark except for some glades, and also rivers would flow througth the landscape. as for items, Cocoa beans would return but as a craftable for Chocolate, and Coconuts for well, Coconut milk, maybe for some sort of PiƱa Colada.
-Steppe: an almost flat terrain, not like Savannnah, this hills would be of 1 or 2 blocks tall, very few water formations would be presents and no trees, grass wouldnt be so thick and you could find bushes scattered througth the landscape. this bushes produce berries which can be used for food.
appart from that i have formuled some new details for the existing biomes:
-Glaciers and Icebergs in the Tundra biomes: a new way for players to get ice easily would be the creation of Glaciers, which are gigantic formations of ice which would cover big parts of the terrain, appearing from mountains and extending to the ocean, Icebergs would be present too, this ice isles would contain some interesting things like dungeons or abandoned treasures.
-more interactions between biomes: maybe as a way to make the environment more realistic would be to create new landscapes when two biomes collide, for example, a forest with a deser could create an interesting beach, if a river flows to the ocean then we could see some banks of sand. and some vegetation. other would be Snow Peaks, those huge mountations should be made of rock and snow in the very top of them the surroundings should have pines and other taiga trees and be covered in snow. other example are the Fjords, this would be formed after a glacier has melted in a forest or taiga biome, the space which has been left by the glacier has been filled with water and forms this huge stretch between some high cliffs with some waterfalls flowing to it.
so theres plenty of things to have into account for the environment, there's other ideas like Canyons, Basins, Volcanoes, etc...
I would actually LOVE a jungle biome. Constant mobs spawning due to the tree canopy blocking out most of the sunlight. Perhaps some troves of ancient treasure to be found hmm?
