Please can we have the option to select mobs we wish to have featured during a solo survival game.
Here's an example why this is needed:
I've been creating an adventure map for the past 5/6 months and skeleton archers are a crucial element to the plot/adventure, however Enderman are stealing essential/cruicial blocks the players needs in order to interact or continue. This is rather annoying.
So I, and im sure many other map makers would agree, we need an option to disable mobs during the game like Enderman.
Then play in 1.9 Pre-release x. Endermen don't pick up as many blocks in 1.8.1
Ive been testing my map in 1.9 they are still taking cruicial blocks. I would also prefer to disable zombies and creepers. I only need 'Skeleton Archers'
endermen wont pick up obsidian, so use that. Also slabs, stairs, fences, and bars and panes. And things with an inventory. Theres a videeo on the forums demonstrating which blocks endermen wont pick up
If Facebook, Myspace, and Twitter were all destroyed, 90% of teens would go insane. If you're one of the 10% that would be laughing at them, copy this into your signature and hope it happens.
Or wait for mojang to include it in a DLC that may never come.
Or live with it.

Hello, I don't usually follow threads that I post in. So if you would like to have a civilized chat / reply / argument that is of the utmost importance, just PM me. =)
First of all, I highly agree with this suggestion. Spawn settings are a feature that is long overdue. It doesn't have to be for survival, I would be fine with "custom world" as it's own game mode. The important thing is that specialty maps are a big thing in Minecraft, and it's foolish of Mojang not to add features to support them, especially when it is things like that which extend the lifespan of a game.
Then play in 1.9 Pre-release x. Endermen don't pick up as many blocks in 1.8.1
Endermen aren't the only things that can ruin an adventure map. Any destructive mob is hell on complicated redstone setups (forcing many maps to be puzzle or combat, but not both) not to mention carefully planned scenery (which cannot always be made from "safe" blocks if it is to look right). Not only that, but if a map is going for a certain theme, then some mobs just do not fit, and break immersion in the story.

As said above, one of the draws of adventure maps is atmosphere...aesthetics. If you want to make a map that looks good, you're going to have to use some materials not on the "approved list".
technically, u don't really want monsters that much (save the skeletons), just use peaceful..
This solution doesn't work for every situation. Also, it eliminates the along with everything else, which is not desired. Dispensers don't achieve quite the same effect as Skeletons. They can't move around, require redstone triggers, run out of ammo, and have maybe a dozen or so other limitations that I don't really feel like listing as they'd be obvious to anyone who bothered to put in a minimal amount of effort for thinking about it.
I hope the devs or Notch reads this....

You don't really grasp the concept of a "Suggestions Forum", do you?
