Some people want Minecraft to head towards an industrial theme, and some people want it to remain at it's current theme, which seems to be fantasy. I have come up with the Magical Industrial theme. Imagine a factory, but the factory is not built in the same way as our modern factories. Instead, many parts of the factory may be magical, or just diffrent from what we use now.
Take redstone for example. Redstone conducts energy much like how wires conduct electricity. Yet redstone is also a bit diffrent. Small amounts of redstone can be put on stick, creating not only a light source, but an infinite supply of energy. Brewing stands are similar. They use the heat from a seamingly magical rod to mix and brew potions.
Minecraft should try to follow along with this theme. It does not force industrialism onto the player, and it does not stray far from Minecraft's current "fantasy" theme.
I really don't like the whole industrial idea in general. I'm not saying "THERE'S A MOD FOR THAT HURR DURR!" but these are the kind of things mods are for...Content that doesn't fit in the game (As in, doesn't fit the theme) normally. It gets annoying seeing Generic-Add-Guns-To-Minecraft-Post-3000, or More-Industrial-Content-Repost-Number-9001 over and over.
Also, just because you put "Magical" in front of Industrial, doesn't make it not-industrial. You're just substituing stuff like electricity and heat for what's already in Minecraft (Redstone, blaze rods, etc.).

I'm ot saying that it isn't industrial. I'm simpy suggesting that machinery be created in a magical fashion. I'm trying to make this stuff fit in to the game, but your saying that industrial doesn't fit into the game, making yor argument invalid

but this content does fit with the game. one of the many aspects of mc is 'evolution' or simply put, getting better resources to build better houses/bases. you could have steampunk factories powered by redstone or complex vehicles powered by talismans, even guns could theoretically work in mc if implemented right (ever heard of flintlocks?). ive seen plenty of fantasies use guns and other machines (warhammer, fable, ect), so i don't see how this doesn't fit.

No, there has never, ever been a sandbox game with a story or ending... except Grand Theft Auto... and Saints Row... and Red Dead Redemption... and Crack Down... and Assassins Creed...

Thank you for making my point. However, guns is actualy a bit much. I one could implement an item with similar function to a gun though...
