I think a great suggestion to Minecraft would be added weight like how much items you have in our inventory and when you sprint you should be slower at it with the amount of items you have in your inventory and/or the armor and weapons you have.
If you want to make a mod of this that would be great or if there already is then tell me.

Personally I don't want this in the game.
I do like have certain aspect of minecraft being unrealistic...
Even tho carrying 64 1 meter x 1 meter stone blocks is pretty unrealistic to begin with xD.
Also I'm not aware if there is a mod like this, but I wouldn't be surprised if there is.

Are you trying to screw Minecraft players over?
Do you even know how many people sprint to get out of a cave away from a creeper, or run to knockback mobs?
I'll give you a hint, they will always outnumber those who support this suggestion by a lot.

I'm not sure on what purpose this mod/idea would serve. Except the realism to the game. But still. I don't want this game to go on a different path instead of the good old classic and minecraft feel to it.
Okay, if this even gets made as a mod, what do you say "heavy" would be? Like the heaviness that would make you run the slowest possible. Seems how ONE block of gold would weigh 19.3 TONS, each stack holds 64 blocks, one stack would be 1235.2 tons, a full inventory (not including 1-9 hotkeys) would weigh 33350.4 TONS.
Now, the 19.3 is just from a quick google search, it might not even be right, but I do know that gold weighs a lot, and one block is 1m3.

Maybe the weight would be measured in kilotons or something of that sort but i would also want to add something like you would be able to see the weight of your inventory/armor and etc in the equipment/inventory screen when you see your character.
I agree with the general argument to this idea-- you can carry around what would theoretically be tons upon tons of weight, and with the idea of any of that weighing you down, it would simply be an unnecessary mechanic for the game.
It is fine that you guys don't want this in the game it is just a suggestion. I'm fine with disagreeing but i would like to see this in the game or even a mod and/or a plugin for the servers. I'm not here to fight about my thoughts with you guys or anything.

That's fine. But maybe notch can divide the actual weight from the real life of some of the items that were put into the game and have that as it is as a full stack or maybe even half a stack ad we all know tho there can be tons of items put into the game. Also there is alot already unrealistic features in the game so why complain about something like this when we have many already?

I don't like it. There are already too many reasons not to carry a bunch of items with you. Also, what weighs more, a stack of gold or a stack of feathers?
Besides, the players already move too slowly to get anywhere quickly. Carrying your stuff to a town would be a nightmare.

Well of course cause you may die and loose everything so that's why we have chests but it would be a bit of a challenge to minecraft that why i have it as a suggestion to a mod/plugin im not saying it has to be in the game or anything. But i love that we have a conversation with all this agreeing and disagreeing.
I don't like the idea. I mean, Minecraft isn't realistic with zombies and skeletons. Besides a lot of people need to be able to sprint out of a cave to survive a Creeper blast.

Well Thanks for the response.
I used to be a adventurer like you, till I took a arrow to the patella.

Why should they have a disadvantage? They mined the diamond and crafted the armor, themselves, why should there be a downside to that?
They are overpowered and so I can run away with my leather amour :biggrin.gif:
Its just a good idea, makes the game more realistic even though minecraft isn't =P
I think it boils down to you thinking it's overpowered when you're at a clear disadvantage because of your cheap armor. Amirite?
I do have a huge disadvantage but its just my opinion I just wanna show my support.
