So, I've been thinking of a lot of things latley, and they go in the order of:
There needs to be a way to tell how many days it's been since I started this world
I need a way to mark where I found mob spawners on my map.
There needs to be a hostile mob for the water.
These three concepts grew into the ideas that will be simple to program, and well worth it to most minecraftians.
1: Calendars
The calander is crafted like a map, but instead of a compass in the middle, there is a watch. It naturally will tell how many days it's been since the world started, reading things like: "Day 1"(I am unsure what punctuation mark to put here, so here's a pig .) It would be a wall-mounted object that would allow the user to put brief memories about the day, such as: "Found first Dungeon," "Made First Cake," "Gained 5 levels," "Earned (insert achievment name here)," etc. It would be used to keep track of what has accomplished, and would be a welcome addition for sentimental players, like myself. (it would also tell the next phase of the moon, but that's not so important yet)
2: Map Markers
I had this idea a while back, but never got around to posting it on the forums. Basicly, I was exploring my world, when I found a cave. Directly inside the cave was a mob spawner, so I took out my map and tried to remember where I found it. Alas, I did not remember, and can't find it to this day. So a solution I cam up with was Map Markers. Basicly, if you right-clicked with a map in your hand, it would open up a marker menu. The marker menu would be a picture of the map, with 15 colored markers on the side. Each marker could be used more than once, to display points similar points of interest (Like a spawner of the same mob, or ravine enterence). You would drag the markers onto the map, where they can be moved to mark pretty much anything, as the markers are represented by colors, not icons. They can be removed at any time by just opening up the marker menu, and dragging them off the map. Once you exit the menu (by right-clicking again), the markers will appear on the map.
3: Man-o-Wars
This jellyfish-type mob is pfound in the ocean at night. It is 2x2x2 blocks large, excluding the tenticles. It will drift towards the player, moving with patterns similar to a squid, making it easy to dodge. If you touch them, you get poisoned. They are on the surface at night, but will retreat to the depths of the ocean, lake, or river it is in, and won't come back until the next night. They drop tenticles, which can be used in making poisoned arrows, and poisoned swords (pretty self-explanitory. Just craft them by putting the tenticle above the thing you want to be poison)
Woah. All three of those ideas actually sounded amazing to me! I would love the map thing and calendars, and we definitely need a hostile water mob. Great ideas! :biggrin.gif:

I like this idea +1
And the man-o-war is a great idea since there is no current hostile water mob. It would really add more of a use for boats :wink.gif:
