We already have the possibility to use words and numbers for seeds.
I would suggest to add the possibility of using mousemoving.
I get to know to this method of generating random numbers by
using TrueCrypt, so I'm pretty sure, this should be possible
to realize.
I don't know, how it technically works, but it caputres the
moves of the mouse and generates random numbers of it.
This could be used as an base for generating random maps, I
believe.
Another idea was to use colored fields to click on, and use
procentual and pattern information for generating maps.
This wouldn't be hundred percent random of course, but I
felt it would be a good idea for influence of an map without
complete loss of the random feature.
For example, theres a green, a blue, a yellow, a red, a black
and a brown field. Green generates grass (and indirect animals),
blue water, yellow gold and other minerals except choal and
redstone, red redstone and lava, black choal and caverns and
brown trees and (for the new option) villages.
If you then often click green in a row and then blue, it would be
a huge land with some kind of sea. But if you click some green,
some blue, some green, some blue and so on, you would get a much
water with many isles on it. Thats what I meant with patterns.
Maybe also an option for creative mode, so that red wouldn't make
so much lava or an option to influence this parameters.
I hope you understand the basic idea.

The first part is more for fun, and it would be totally different from
choosing a word for the seed.
Plus I'm addicted to mathematical things, and random number generation with
computer is one complex problem because of the structures, that computers
work with.
I like the mouse moving idea, it would be a fun feature where you can move your mouse in a bunch of random squigles to make a map. Although this sounds like an idea for a mod.

@all I would love more discussions about the second part. Mainly the idea was to influence your map without loss of randomness. Would you like to influence your maps or do you love the thrill of not knowing what you get?
