when you crouch you should be able to jump higher too so you can jump 2 blocks at a time. And a sprint button so you can crouch jump REALL far!

Oh man, this made me laugh so hard.

And I don't like the 'crouching morphs you into a block' idea. It's just a bit random and it wouldn't really fool anyone. Unless your skin was made out of a dirt block or something, then it might work, but that's more of a requirement...

I like this idea, and have thought about it every time I play, however, I think it could open up some problems. (Escaping jails, glitching, greifing, animation)

Hopefully they implement this the right way, im sure this will get into the game soon enough, but the question is when.

I thought about this a while ago. (Never posted it.) I think it's a good idea. And what would be cool is:
Crouching in mid-air = Roll when you hit the ground. ;D

If we get admin glass this could solve the problem. You could just open a little hole at the bottom and the person could crawl out.

how about: when you couch you become a single block.

it'll could be good for hiding, and as a bonus you get the ability too couch..

only issue is seeing blocks that are moving around =/

Nice idea, but proning sounds better (animation wise, you occupy less space, etc).

Only problem I see with it is escaping the spawn prisons, and we just need admin glass for that as said before. I'm 100% for it though, crawling more so then crouching for graphic reasons.

Bad with Proneing is it will be 2 blocks on the ground then above so its bad

I'm surprised this hasn't been done before and notch should do it. As for what players will look like as they're crouching, have them do the splits!
