For me, the ideal button for crouching is holding Ctrl.
Ingame, crouching could make you be able to fit through one area block instead of the default while standing, two area blocks.
Also, when you crouch, it should make you go slower, about the same speed as in water, but without the 'drift' effect.
..Speaking of water, is there a way to create it ingame? I'm really new :\

Crouching would rock for building tunnel entrys and exits, would be able to make them a lot smaller and easier to hide. Maybe this will be more useful in future with different game modes also.
