I love circuity, and moreso minecraft-RedStone-circuity, however there has been something I've noticed.
I recently replaced my computers powersupply with a flip switch, only to find out that flipping the switch to "on" does not produce limitless power for my computer...
My Idea:
redstone (:GP:) + gold (:GoldBar:)= limitless power emitting from it.
this will create an energy cell (a battery if you wish)
(the redstone torch will remain the same, however the redstone ontop of the stick will be replaced with the redstone battery)
your normal circuit can be powered by flipping a switch, or pushing a button, but now that will do nothing. instead; if a wire is attached to the switch, the switch will only determine if power can flow THOUGH the wire, rather then creating the energy to power the wire.
so; when the switch is in the off position, the wire attached to the switch cannot receive power. when the switch is flipped, power can flow through the wire normally.
where does the power come from? a redstone torch.
= wire powered = wire unpowered = redstone torch (made with energy cell) = lever / switch
the lever is switched:
so, now we have a power source for the energy flowing through the wire, rather then it just appearing at the flip of a switch.
"i need power! but im to cheap to use gold!"
solution:
( = wood slab/half step)
this makes a water-wheel. using tile-to-tile support on this block, when water is touching it, it will turn/rotate and supply power in all directions (like a torch)
"why not always use the water wheel?" i was thinking; maybe it should have a shorter range that it can supply power down a line. (torches can supply 8 blocks of distance. maybe a wheel can only do 4? or something along those lines)
So complicated and unneeded. We don't need a seperate power source after all this time creating with redstone.
true it may complicate projects, but it makes a lot more sense to actually have a power source rather then the wires creating their own power from nothingness.
