I really would love Mojang to implement "sunken ships" akin to abandoned mineshafts, complete with loot chests, new "prefix mobs" (such as Shipwrecked Zombie), and maybe masts made out of wood and wool petruding from the ship. Just my two cents, though.

That'd be cool, but it'd be hard to code, i mean, random crashed ships? and at the bottom of the ocean? If it'd be coded in, the ships would be floating around in the ocean, cuz the ocean changes depth
Seeing as 10-15 block-deep oceans are more abundant since the 1.8 release, it would be practical to add an aquatic mod to replace the passive mobs that are unable to spawn there.
I like the idea of a Giant Squid as an aggressive water mob, but underwater battle would be too dangerous and risky. There needs to be some sort of way to make combat effective whilst underwater, like the ability to breathe underwater or swim faster through the use of potions. What a Giant Squid would drop is a little tricky.
The sunken ship idea sounds perfect for the underwater trenches that are formed when ravines spawn in ocean biomes. It could be inhabited by the aforementioned Shipwrecked Zombies, which would look like the regular ones except slightly bloated. Why not throw in mossy wooden planks, cargo loot, and Shipwrecked Zombie spawners as well?
A mob idea I have is the inclusion of Sharks. These could spawn underwater when a certain depth is met, but only in natural ocean biomes. I have no idea what they would drop, but shark teeth and shark meat would be plausible.
I think that sharks would be a cool mob for oceans, but they should probably only spawn in water and darkness. That way, at least during the day, they would only be able to spawn in very deep water.
Alligators for swamps and rivers could also be interesting.
Also, squids (and all future water-base mobs) should have to have at least a 5x5x5 area of still water to spawn. I hate how they can spawn in any body of water, it's very strange.

There already is a helmet enchantment that increases the duration of air bubbles and slows the rate of damage when the air runs out.
I really like the idea of sunken ships and seems totally doable.
And we might break up if I don't wake up to the sun.
Sounds neat, especially if it became a boss mob of sorts. @[email protected]
And yay for ideas that make boats worth using each time you cross an ocean.

I tried it with terrible results. I gave my wife my glasses for a second, a creeper showed up and now my wife is pregnant.
Stupid 3D..
