The Bag of Sending would basically, of course, act as a remote one-way drop-box for a Chest of Receiving. Full inventories can be a pain - usually it's a no-brainer: Drop that gravel, throw that rotten flesh away - wait, why did I come down here with a stone hoe? But eventually you run out of options and sometimes sacrificing cobblestone stacks doesn't seem so appealing (at least, if you're me, who is totally lazy and builds everything out of it ).
Crafting the Bag of Sending would be a simple matter require: 8 Leather around 1 Diamond Eye of Ender. Chests of Receiving would be created by placing a Chest on an Enchanting Table, costing 5 levels per enchanted chest.
Using the Bag of Sending would be an easy feat: Just take the item you don't want to toss on the ground, drop it on the Bag in your inventory, and the item is sent to the nearest Chest of Receiving with the space to spare. If all Chests of Receiving are full, the Bag will warn you.
Edit: However, the Bag's powers would wane: It would have a cap of 25 uses, and recharging it would require either an Ender Pearl or an Eye of Ender. Recharging the bag would be done by placing it into the crafting grid with either item. Ender Pearls would restore 5 uses to the Bag, and Eyes of Ender would restore 10. Stacks still count as a single use; 1 cobblestone or 64, only one use is consumed.
Auto Mode
Right clicking with the Bag of Sending in your hand toggles Auto Mode: Everything you pick up is Sent automatically! Convenient if you're just mining cobblestone.
The Saving Throw
Upon dieing, the Bag of Sending would automatically transfer all your items to a Chest of Receiving, with whatever is closest taking priority. The Bag itself, along with your experience, however, would still drop.
All-in-all it's just a cool idea I had, and I eagerly await and appreciate all feedback.
The Tome of Crafting is another idea I had. Basically, right clicking it in your inventory opens up a 3x3 crafting grid; allowing you to make more complex items without having to drop a bench first.
Crafting the Tome of Crafting; with the bookshelf representing a book
I don't really see that as ever being implemented, as it would make storage carts entirely useless.
However, if it did get added...
For balance reasons, the bag of sending should only give you back the diamond when destroyed.
That way you couldn't simply drag it absolutely EVERYWHERE with you with little disadvantages.
You'd have to use up 8 leather every time you move it.
Alternatively, it should give you the leather and not the diamond. I'm not sure how limiting each of these would be, so I'm not sure which limit should be given.

The Bag of Sending would not be placed before use. Rather, it stays in its inventory slot and items are sent to the Chest via dragging them over the bag and dropping it into its slot.
The Tome of Crafting is a wonderful idea, but to keep the balance, it should have a certain number of uses (replace the diamond and air with gold ingots?), and of course, you cannot use it in a crafting recipe when you are using it.
The Bag of Sending is already a mod (backpacks), but instead of sending stuff places, it should just incrase the amount of XP you can have at one time. Otherwise, in SMP, ther are multiple ways of abuse: A person steals all your stuff by cramming it into their bag, so you can't stop him from leaving with your stuff, or a person lays down a Chest of Reciving next to you and kills you, thus negating the sending properties. A wy to fix the latter is to simply have the classic frequency.
The Chest of Recieving could also have some magical properties:
It could be the only way to stack buckets and eggs up to 64,
Or it could double the maximum stack size,
Or it could be a mailbox/trading tool-set the frequency, and all chests of the same frequency sees the same stuff. Positive frequencies are a mailbox, so place the items inside, hit send, and they are sent to the nearest chest of the same frequency. Negative frequencies are trading chests- a row of slots for each person, the other person cannot take stuff from it, and when both people have hit lock, the rows trade places.

Generation 25. Community experiment-the first time you see this, copy it into your signature and add 1 to the number.
I support RedPower, Buildcraft, and the suggestions minetrains, minecart controls, locks and keys, and thechest or recieving.
This seems extremely overpowered. Makes the game too easy. Specially being so easy to craft.
No support.
I have taken this into consideration; along with other statements that the Bag is overpowered and revised its crafting recipe and usability. I implore you, take another look and tell me if the revised version is any better.

This would be a neat time-saver!
