So, I was thinking, why not have an effect where ice glimmers every now and then, you know, to add to the fact that it's ice. I'm not sure if this would be a particle effect or not though. But I'm sure it's possible.
And it doesn't even have to just be ice, glass and metal blocks (iron, gold, diamond, etc.) could glimmer too. But the main suggestion here is for ice.

The statement above is false.
Do you walk outside at night and see green things blowing up in your face?
If so, then tell me wtf you're smoking.
Who cares if it's real or not. And actually, yes, if you put it up to the sun it does.
There are real and imaginary features to the game... ice is real, creepers are not :tongue.gif:
And anything shiny glitters when held up to the sun, but ice doesn't glitter if it's not in the sun. If you walked out on a frozen lake at night and say sparking particles, it would look really strange. It's would also require more code to the game that it doesn't need. Especially considering that there can be huge lakes completely covered in ice,a nd would look awkward with so many blocks sparking at once. Imagine if the ice blocks were fire instead. All the smoke particles would make you lag (along with the fire animation) so glittering ice blocks wouldn't make much sense.
What would such a sparking effect look like anyway? :tongue.gif:

I didn't say it had to be a particle effect, and I didn't say that it would always glimmer. And even if it's under the moon, I'm sure it would still sparkle.
