Well wouldn't it be cool if you could craft an amphibious vehicle so when you fall into water it transforms into a boat and when you hit land (Preferably on a rail) it gives a boost and fires you back onto the tracks.

Don't know, it sounds a little too much for vanilla style Minecraft. Every single vehicle have an specific terrain to travel or it can't be just built:
-> Minecarts - only into rails, have acceleration, speed and rail's angles to be taken in consideration.
-> Boat - only in water, difficult to change directions fast enough.
-> Saddled pig - not controllable, "useful" both in earth and water.
Probably there are more, i just don't know about them yet... :sad.gif: so, instead of a amphibian vehicle, we could have a submarine way of travelling, it opens a lot of possibilities as underwater biomes(Coral Forest, Submarine Volcano, Shark Pits, Atlantic Dungeons...). :biggrin.gif:
Don't know, perhaps for a start, some swimming equipment? Less armor durability against impact, but more air, speed and vision while underwater?

Well the only problem with that is you don't just dive into the water with equipment, you would need a submarine or something to manage your progress. Maybe have an underwater biome like Atlantis and you could have an underwater camera that takes pictures of the underwater fish and sharks and maybe people. Then go back to the submarine and I don't know after that.

Steel minecart > lava? I don't think so hehe
OBSIDIAN minecart = lava? Perhaps... if you have obsidian already maybe is something to be thought about. Just don't know how much useful it's going to be using an obsidian minecart in the Nether with fireballs going towards you...

Although I do think minecarts should work as boats in lava.

Why does everyone think I don't have an avatar? Is there anyone who can see the one black pixel.
Hm. I could've sworn Notch said something about Minecarts working as lava boats.
Good idea!
