Think of these as a blocky version of the real thing. They would be 3-4 blocks long, 2 blocks tall, and 1 block wide. They'll fly but unlike enderdragons, they won't destroy everything they run into. For those who don't know what a griffin is it's a mythical creature, it has a horse like body, an eagle's head, and talons, and it can fly with it's bird-like wings. Now, these should be able to be tamed and ridden and controlled unlike pigs, and should also have a neutral status like that of zombie pigmen. Griffins would spawn from a spawner in a hole in the side of a mountain, this would be the nest. These could also be biome specific (color-wise): Mountains: Have a golden and green feather coat.
Tundra: Have a white feather coat
Swamp: Have a dark/puke green feather coat
Desert: Have a sand/tan colored coat.
Forest: Have a lighter green color coat
Grassland: Probably the same as forests.

dude this has to happen, it just has to and it should be tamable with dragon meat or some dragon loot, make it happen >_<.

Well, we can now say the other gryphon topic is now redundant. And he spelled gryphon wrong. It's spelled "Gryphon"
