Note: All of these mobs may spawn at any light level, but Snow Monsters can only spawn on snow, Rock Golems can only spawn near stone, Treants can only span where trees can grow, etc...)
Edit: Ok, alot of you have been saying, Snow Golems are already in the game. In my head, when I think of these, I think of big, hulking creatures, not snowmen. Changed Snow Golem to Snow Monster
Alrighty then, I thought of this when I was think about how few mobs minecraft had that were around very commonly.
Ex: If you go to bed at night then wake up in the morning, do you see many mobs outside when you wake up?
Idea Numero Uno (XD):
Name: Treant
Description: Looks like a normal tree. Until you try to cut it down.
Health: Lets say 10 Hearts
Hint: Axes and fire do extra damage against this creature, and striking it with an axe will not cause 2x durability damage, as it would with other mobs.
Warning: Gets 3 extra hearts in water
Drops: Logs, saplings
Spawn Info: A tree has a 1% chance to spawn as a Treant
Idea Number 2:
Name: Rock Golem
Description: A golem that like to listen to heavy metal. (Just Kidding) May spawn as a chunk of rock, which, if struck, will turn into a rock golem, or may just spawn as a rock golem
Health: 13 Hearts (Now before you say "OP ALERT!!!," Its made of stone guys...
Hint: Pickaxes do extra damage against this creature
Warning: He's a heavy hitter
Drops: Cobblestone, stone, mossy stone (rare)
Spawn info: Has a 1% chance to spawn, always near stone
Idea Number 3:
Name: Snow Monster
Description: A monster made of snow
Health: 8 Hearts
Hint: Shovels, fire, lava do extra damage against this creature; will freeze water around it (notice I said AROUND, this means that if it were heading across an ocean, water INFRONT of it would freeze BEFORE the monster walked on it, preventing a drowning trap
Drops: Snowballs, Ice
Spawn Info: Can only spawn on snow/ice
Final Idea (4):
Name: Fire golem
Description: Possible the most dangerous of all, getting too close to this creature for too long will cause you to catch fire (unless you're wearing steel+ armor, in which case it will only do a small amount of damage as long as you stay within range; also launches blaze-like projectiles if you move out of melee range
Health: 10 Hearts
Hint: Water/rain does extra damage against this creature; fire/lava does none
Drops: Flint and Steel, Blaze Rods (rare)
Spawn Info: Can spawn on lava, may also spawn when a fire is allowed to burn unattended (rare)
So, these are my ideas, please let me know what you think of them.

Treants have a darker color than other trees, as well as a Creeper-like face easily visible on the trunk of the tree
Snow Golems exist. Place two blocks of snow on top of each other, and a pumpkin on top.
Golems are creatures which are built, that is why most suggestions including them have them able to be built like Snow Golems.
But mostly these just seem like an easy way to get items. I can easily kill all of these on every one of my worlds.

Well, if they only spawned ON rocks, then their spawning areas would be limited drastically. There are only so many stone blocks that they can spawn ON.
By NEAR, I mean 2-3 blocks near.

Alright I'd just like to say since the new snow golems are out and about and their friendly why not make golems and trents a summon creature (a creature you summon) like a wolf you can right click it to stay or follow and they fight your enemys (unlike the sow golems the stone and trents do some damage) i think id just be nice to finally have some guys on our side for once?

Golems are creatures which are built, that is why most suggestions including them have them able to be built like Snow Golems.
