I really don't like the idea of having lava lakes on the surface of the world. They are rare, but not that rare. I just think they take away from the adventure and task of having to explore caves to find lava. Now that biomes are waaay bigger, players will do more exploring. This means that above ground lava lakes will become even less rare...
Either remove them, or make them super rare. What do you think?
I agree aboveground lava pools detract a bit from actually discovering an underground one, but i do not, however, believe it takes away from the exploring in general.
No thank you i like entire forests burning down because of them XD Anyways there pretty neat.
Almost as fun as getting the element arrow mod and hooking up a dispenser to a rapid pulser and burning down a forest with a giant lightning bolt.
I like lava lakes above ground because it adds vivid randomness and interest to the game. It also freaks you out if you almost accidentally run into them. xD
1) why? I don't see how they detract from exploration, if anything they are an interesting thing to see. Plus it's not as if they represent an infinite resource.
2) Do they honestly occur often enough to bug you heavily enough to demand a change just to get rid of them?
