Hey all! I was just thinking of a few new mobs that Notch could possibly add. They are new types of
Zombies, Skeletons, Spiders, NPCS, and some other things.
HOSTILE MOBS -
Dire Zombie - A Dire Zombie, is 3 blocks tall instead of two. It has 15 hearts, and has the same looking skin, but colored differently. A Dire Zombie has armor which is not visible. The armor is leather armor, so it's more of a challenge. It does 3 hearts of damage on Easy, 5 Hearts of Damage on Normal, and 7 Hearts of Damage on Hard. He is slower then a normal Zombie, but harder to kill. If he sees you, he will pursue you until you are 20 blocks away from him. They will destroy blocks if they can't get to you. Drops Chunks of Zombie Flesh, which when used, smothers the player in Zombie goo. They player will be invisible to all Hostile Mobs for 5 Minutes. He can also drop a Dire Zombie Head. A Dire Zombie head will make the player out to be a Dire Zombie. Other Zombies will see the player and follow him if they Helmet is equipped. It has durability of Leather, and the Zombie will protect the player.
Dire Zombie Traits- Taller, Stronger, ability to break dirt and stone. Slower.
Spawn Rate - Uncommon, spawns in the dark.
Fast Zombie - A Zombie that moves as fast, or almost as fast as the player. This Zombie has 7 hearts, and hits you for 1 Heart of Damage on Easy, 2 on Normal, and 3 on Hard. They are 2 blocks tall, but look skinny. He drops Zombie Flesh.
Fast Zombie Traits- Faster. Easy to kill, not a lot of damage.
Spawn Rate - Common, spawns in the dark.
Walking Bones - A Skeleton that will spawn with a Wooden Sword. He has the same traits as other Skeletons, except for the fact he is melee. Wood Sword does same damage on all difficulties. He drops bones, or a wooden Sword.
Walking Bones Traits- Melee. Easy to Kill.
Spawn Rate - Common, spawns in the dark.
Spider Matriarch - A spider Matriarch is mama Spider. She is twice the size of a normal Spider, making her spawn in only large areas. She has 20 Hearts, and is Slow. She can climb like other Spider, but can't fit through small holes. She does 1 Damage on Easy, Normal, and Hard, but, she is unique. She can poison you like Cave Spiders, but her poison will slow you down to 50% movement speed and does half a heart of damage for 6 seconds. She spawns very rarely, and when killed 3 Cave Spiders appear over her corpse. She drops Large Spider Spinner, which shoots Webs at your target. Webs will basically spawn webs under their feet, causing them to slow down. The Large Spider Spinner has as much durability as a fishing pole. She can also drop Giant Spider Legs, which can be used to climb up mountains by right clicking and left clicking. The animation would resemble the player using the sticky legs to crawl up the cliff.
Spider Matriarch Traits- Large amount of health, Special Poison, Spawns Babies on death. Slow, can be killed easily in tight corners.
Spawn Rate - Very Rare, spawns in the dark.
NPC'S -
Lost Miner - Lost Miners are found in Caves and Mine Shafts. They carry a Stone Pick Axe, and if they are provoked, they attack with a Stone Sword. They are like the player, except when they spawn, they don't go more than 10 blocks from their spawn point. They WILL attack hostile mobs, and are neutral to the players unless they are threatened. Upon seeing one, you can have 2 options. 1: Give them a Map, so they find their way out of the cave, or 2: Kill them. If you give them a map, they will give you anything from Iron Ingots to Diamonds. If you kill them, they will drop an Iron Pick Axe, or a Rock Pick Axe along with some Coal.
Spawn Rate - Uncommon, spawns near light.
Wanderer - Wanderers are NPC that are neutral. You will often recognize one if you see a little makeshift wooden house. They wear Leather Armor, and carry a Rock Sword. They attack Hostile Mobs if they are attacked first. If you attack one, they will fight back. Giving a Wanderer materials to continue his journey will result in rewards. You can give them torches, food, tools, or weapons. They will reward you graciously depending on what you give them. The wanderer will drop wooden planks, tools, or stone tools. They are like the normal Minecraft Player.
Spawn Rate - Uncommon, spawns near light.
THANKS ALL! These are a few suggestions and ideas I had. Let me know what you think! Personally you guys can come up with the loot and If you think some mobs might be a bit overpowered, that's fine and they are just ideas. Thanks!
That's not really our place, is it? You're the suggester, suggest. We are the critics, we shall critique.
However, I'll answer this question.
The hostile mobs I can't see dropping anything but larger(Or smaller in the case of the fast zombie) quantities of their original mobs drop. You've already done the drops for the miner, which I think are fine as they are, and the wanderer should drop wooden tools or other such items.
This is not to say I want any of these implemented.

I think that if you want to suggest a mob don't propose mobs that are a different variant of an already existing one and the same traits that another mob already has...
For example the fast zombie doesn't look much different from normal ones and we already have spiders, which are pretty quick, moreover the walking bones is just a zombie pigman that looks like a skeleton... not original.
And I personally like the idea of mid-bosses mobs but again, you should be more original
As for the Dire zombie, why does it have to be a zombie? It could be a bigfoot, a gorilla or a living statue to make it more original looking and it does nothing particular, it's just 'though'. The spider matriarch does the same thing as big slimes, just with spiders of which we already have 2 types.
As for the lost miner and the wanderer I don't really like them because they are too quest-ish and I don't want minecraft to go towards that direction, also it'd make more sense if they looked like NPCs not players...

"I can see a beautiful sunset rendering in the distance."
No thanks.
Thanks! :biggrin.gif:
As I said, you guys can decide what they drop.

Then I'll edit it to add their loots!
If you yourself could come up with unique drops with a unique use or two on your own, I MAY support this. Mind you, that is a very emphasized MAY.
You agree with what?
