The timer would be a block made out of a clock surrounded by stone(or cobblestone, wood, etc.) What it would do, is when you right click it, it brings up a GUI of the clock, except with two little markers, one red and one blue. You set the blue marker somewhere, and when the dial of the clock touches it, it will become a power source. You then set the red dial somewhere. When the dial touches it (assuming it has touched the blue dial, first) it will deactivate the power source. This can be used to, say, open your doors in the morning, and have them close at night. It could also be used as a delayer. I'm aware that you can take thirty seconds and make something else, but this would use much less time and space, and help out us redstone impaired. Er, I mean THE redstone impaired.
Is it an item? No
Can it already be made? Yes, :dry.gif: I made one that timed one second, so dude its already there JUST MAKE IT. :angry.gif:
(EDIT: But if you say that you craft it on a table then ok)
I dont know if I follow, are you describing something you plan to create redstone wise, or an idea for an item? I like piston clock ideas personally, too bad I suck at them atm.
Much cleaner is no excuse, if someone can make one in 30 seconds flat, it doesn't really have a use, does it?
I once said this on a falling sands game suggestion forum, and I can't believe I'm saying it here; the point is to be creative, not to replace thinking with one-block items.

It wasn't meant solely to make it cleaner. Being much cleaner was a sort of an additional benefit.
You are not one of them.

[quote=Badgerz]You have to keep in mind that people are stupid.
[quote=Catelite]Just because you don't understand how something works, doesn't make it broken or pointless. >_<

Also, better description written.
