my idea is that you should be able to throw items by holding q. it will take 1 second to throw a block 50% farther with no damage but maybe hitting them back. after 2 seconds you throw it twice as far with an appropriate amount of damage. for example a stone will do 1 damage and a string will do absolutely nothing.
to keep it from becoming overpowered the blocks will have a 10% chance of not surviving the impact. (you may want to avoid throwing iron blocks at people...)
in addition to having different damages some items will have different effects:
slime-balls will stick the target to the ground for 2 seconds but it will do no damage
dirt will blind them for 1 second because any longer would be overpowered
glass will shatter doing damage to anything that steps on the area that it hits
and if you throw an arrow you are an idiot because a bow does not break

On Topic : It could be interesting, but I think items such as paper should not be throwable as you can't really throw paper without crumpling it up.

that's what i said, throwing some things will not work.
I thought you meant snowballs, eggs, enderpearls, and splash potions should be chargable, so then you could lob things into a window, or chuck them really far.

You can't make metre cubed pieces of rock get jiggy with each other, that's just WRONG.

I mean for any items so it can become an improvised weapon such as throwing a block of stone at somebody after you run out of arrows

Maybe after so many seceonds, it will automatically miss your crosshair.
Else, it's just a bit too OP.
