It has seem that Notch has tackled chests animations, so I don't see why not he can't try door animations. Whenever you go in or out of the house, you use all your might and rudely slam the door open or close. With animations, you can do more of a slower opening, but still quick enough hurry to shelter from a pack of mobs . What do you guys think?
I think it should be like the chest in the way that you see it go from closed to open in a smooth motion, but you can still go through the door while its doing the open motion and can't go through it when its going through the closing motion.
So it would be as if it opens/closes instantly but you watch it go through the motion like the chest.
I don't know... if I'm running inside to avoid being blown into bite sized chunks by a creeper, I'm gonna be slamming the door,.
Anyway, I kinda like this suggestion, but it'd also make doors quieter, taking away their uses as annoyance devices and possible audible alarms for before you have access to redstone.
While they're at it, why dont they also fix the double door glitch?

Optifine is awesome!
Now, when can Notch start using 3D instead of linear chunks for minecraft? It would massively improve performance, and increase height limits by hundreds of times. There are mods out there that do that already.
